ArtistOfWords: Our churches are not to be hierarchies of bosses, but "lower-archies" of servants, where Christians compete not to lead and rule, but to love and serve...In the church we have popes, bishops, priests, reverends, chairmen, superintendents, and authorities of every description. We even have unofficial "church bosses" and "power brokers" ---those individuals in the church who are feared and obeyed, even when they have no official title or job description in the church structure. But that is not the kind of authority Jesus modeled and taught to His church. He taught that those who serve, regardless of their title, are the ones who earn the mantle of authority in His church. ---Ray Steadman

I_am_7th_archangel: "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your minister."
(Matthew 20:25-27)

Point well made. Totally agree. Definitely needs to be applied in all aspects of ministry leadership.
