On the houses up and and down the streets
Me and my dogs are panting
As we make our way over to the next street
There's magic in the air Christmas spirit in our hearts
By the time we get home me and the dogs have real cold feet
But it's well worth it to see all the beautiful lights

Now it's morning the dogs get their special treats
Our house has no reminders it's just another day
The dogs eat their treats not knowing it's Christmas Day.
I just choose not to observe Christmas Day this year.
People in the houses around me tear into the gift wrap
Finding that item that weeks ago was really just a dream
I have my cereal and make a cup of dark roast
Mom and I would be listening to classic Christmas songs
And eating French toast
It's just another day in this quiet lonely house
You can hear it settling this quiet lonely house
No use for suits and no use for ties
I just stare at the ordinariness of the day
With tears in my eyes
Not even the ringing of the phone
Me and the dogs spend Christmas all alone
