Anyone know how probationary periods are looked at?

electronic101: So next week will be my last week of my 3 month probation working at the dollar store.

I'll only be working three shifts next week, which I think will be the last probation week. I checked the schedule and on the day of my second shift, it was marked that my boss and assistant manager will be having a "formation". I'm in Quebec so it's in French. Anyone know what this means and if it could possibly involve me? I know it has to do with job training, don't know if it involves me or what...

The head office is involved in the decision to keep employees. A few weeks ago, an inspector was watching me and another cashier along with my boss and another manager. I was so nervous by them watching me that I was being slower than I usually am at the cash. My boss has seen me perform other times when I'm faster so I think maybe he knows I'm not really that slow.

Something I remembered this week or last week was my boss telling me during my first or 2nd week working there was that an inspector from the head office comes in the store as a regular customer once or twice a week and watches the cashiers' performances then too. Most of the time I'm pretty good and fast at the cash and I've seen some familiar faces and some make me think that they're the inspector by the way they compliment and talk to me.

Lastly, I'm not just cashiering. I'm also stocking/fixing the shelves. I don't know if I do them fast enough, but I think my boss would let me know that if I'm being slow at it. There were many times I didn't do things fast enough, but when I started to realize how fast I need to be I became faster. There's been about 3 or 4 times where I finished the fixing/stocking properly and fast.

So what do you guys think? What do you guys think will be assigned to me for my last week of probation? Do you think I'll get inspected at the cash again? Be watched carefully? How will they fire me if they need to? Will they tell me at the end of my last shift or before that?

Bytr: Let us know because we do care. I never pass employment probation.

Normal probation means that if you get in trouble during this time you will go to jail and the cops can search your house for stolen property.
