Problem With Wire? ChuckH: Hi: Someone just messaged me with the following: "Something is wrong with wire. I can go into a chat room and people can see my name and i can read what they say but they can't read me. Also I send PMs and they don't get them and I don't get PMs. I can see friends list, home page and everything but no one can read me. Can you help or find some help to solve this for me. I have very few friends emails so I come to you again. Love you..............Sara" Any ideas on how to solve this? KarenBigRed: Not sure on that, I can still see names of people in rooms that we mutually blocked each other ChuckH: So it is looking like Sara received a spanking from the "esteemed" Wire gods. The good news is that she'll be back to normal soon enough. The real reason why this sucks so much is because we all know that WE give Sara better spankings!!!! KarenBigRed: Chickhipp, more likely the problem is something the room owner has with you I know a few people that are blocked from rooms but have no clue why Naughty is cool: Wire seems to stop sending and receiving messages half way through conversations. People later say they thought I left . It is very frustrating. I am using an iPhone and duck duck go as a browser. I switched to Chrome but same thing. Is it a setting issue, I can’t find how to correct it. I constantly refresh with no luck. Any help will do. ChuckH: Naughty is cool --- Thank you for bringing this up!! One of the big problems with using a cell phone when in a chat room is that you get a lot of system crashes. Desktop and laptop PC's have a lot of internal RAM memory that lets them handle the occasionally insane volumes of data that is getting exchanged worldwide in an internet chat room. Cell phones and tablets are not always able to handle it at the same level, and we often get kicked out of whatever room we were in, or the thing crashes altogether, requiring us to reconnect and reload the chat page. Even with a PC there will be the occasional crash (that is - stopping and receiving messages in conversations); in those situations it can be a local wi-fi connection problem or the server itself is getting flooded and it decides to kick EVERYONE out, because it thinks it has more sense than the rest of us (it just might, at that...!! ) Anyway - good luck - if I am saying anything that requires a correction, feel free to do so. |
