Darth: Think of it like this. You cannot stop anyone from saying things about you in the real world. You are just unaware of what they are saying as you are not being exposed to it. Darth: The block function works as it is intended. If the unblocked person is passing along information, that is a separate issue. Think of the blocking feature like life. You can ignore someone in real life but you cannot make the disappear just because you don’t want to deal with them. There is always the chance that somehow, someway, you may see or hear about them. If you really do not want to hear or see from or anything about an individual, there is only one option that I can think of to solve this dilemma.  Thosny: Way... Way.. waaaaaaaay back in the day when I ran a bulletin board system, I coded the block feature to have a dual purpose. If even one person blocked another, BOTH those people would not be able to see each other. It worked to perfection because neither of them could see what the other person was typing. Here and in most sites, the block feature can be used as a offensive weapon by the actual offender. They block the person they are harrassing but yet continue to taunt them in the chat room because they know the person they are taunting has most likely not blocked them as well. The mandatory dual block addresses that issue. You do not see them and they do not see you! Darth: How can one taunt and harass someone if the person has an individual blocked? The person cannot see what said individual is typing, therefore, cannot be taunted and/or harassed.  Thosny: Darth... Let's say that I am harassing you and then I just blocked you because I want to stay in line with wireclub rules. You... Possibly steamed and upset, have not blocked me. You would see everything that I was posting to you until such time that you blocked me. The dual block feature eliminates that issue immediately.if one person decides to block the other person, then both people are automatically blocked from each other. |
