Can't share pics with non-friends anymore.

Corwin
Corwin: We used to be able to post a link to our photos by using [copy image location] instead of using [copy image link], and it would pull it directly from the server.
Like this ---> Picture

I just tried to share a photo with everyone in Canada Chat, and non-friends couldn't see it.
This used to be a good feature... sometimes it's nice to share a photo with everybody in the room regardless of friend status.

What gives with that?

Corwin
Corwin: Of course I could change my settings so that anybody can see ALL my photos... and leave my profile open for everybody to see... but I enjoy a certain level of privacy.

I would really like it changed back to the way it was regarding this.

go to the image, right click, 'copy image URL' doesn't work anymore?

Anyway, you can still set the image to all and the profile to friends only, so sharing images is still possible.

MercuryDragon: Noticed this as well. Was also disappointed. I imagine it was to cut down on abusive users who link other people's photos in rooms to make fun of them (this has happened here for a very long time)

However, this recent change wouldn't really deter such users because saving and uploading to tinypic is just as easy.

Would definitely like to see the old feature brought back.

Owen: Sadly, this is another one of those cases where a few people ruined it for the majority. There is an exploit to this in a couple of ways as many of you already know.

I cant share what these are exactly, just in case admin does decide to revert things to how they were.

Tinypic is something we can more control at this point, if the picture is bad, we can just suspend the person/report posts to admin to delete (etc).

Corvin/Aura is right. If you guys want to unprivate a photo, use that method. It works

We should get used to the idea that some people like their photos private too. I mean, if someone is a friend to somebody with a private profile/pictures, they can grab those image links themselves and share them freely! Which, is one of the issues I mentioned, but only a small part of the overall problem.

Super Jeeps
Super Jeeps: You could make everything much easier by making it possible for users to have a PUBLIC (anyone can see them) and a PRIVATE (nobody but friends can see these) album....

SWlNE: As it is right now. Can the pictures in a public blog be shared publicly?
If so then you can try that for now, Corvin.

(meaning the blog itself be shared and the pictures in it can be seen to others outside the friendlist)

Corwin: Thanks, Owen.
So are you saying that we can unprivate individual photos while keeping the rest of the album/albums private?
That would work for me, and then I could re-private them again once I finished showing it in a room or forum, or even create a separate album of photos that I don't mind sharing publicly.

But I don't see any privacy options regarding individual photos, either in the settings, or on the photo itself.

[edit] - Jeeps idea is good too, about having an individual album that could be set to public... I think Facebook (sorry for swearing) used to work like that.
