Pictures Uploading Sideways

AutumnAsylum
AutumnAsylum: Every time I upload a new picture, it is rotated on to it's side.

Anyway I can fix this?

Owen: That sounds a bit strange. Do the images appear to be normal when you open them in an exterior application - such as MS paint?

AutumnAsylum: Yeah they are. But I just loaded them rotated and it corrected them. So I guess I solved my own problem, even though it's a little inconvenient.

Owen: As the website is still under major development, everything doesn't operate perfectly just yet! Glitches like these (or other) have been known to happen, this one is a little different but thanks for letting us know. (:

Robot Seb: That happens a lot with images that are uploaded from mobile devices and phones. I think because the images are automatically rotated on mobile devices that it uploads sideways sometimes.

SuperChickenSam: This problem is happening to me as well as I often upload pictures from my mobile. I was already thinking about what Autumn did to solve the problem so I guess i will give that a try.

Robot Seb: Camera phones are designed to take pictures when held in "portrait mode" while the camera is being held as if you were talking on the phone. If you take an image while rotating your phone 90 degrees to one side so its in "landscape mode", one of those would be right side up when uploading it.

Wild__: I've been having that problem as well, even after I import pictures to my computer and it only happens on this site. I tested the same exact pics on other sites and they upload just fine.

So I guess I need to rotate the pics to the right prior to uploading them in anticipation of them being rotated to the left?

Wild__: well my monitor doesn't have that fancy screen lock feature. Being over a month old and all, I guess its obsolete.

shy crystal: Wild, what you do is open the picture in Microsoft Paint and then you can rotate the picture left or right
