Moderator Feedback Open Thread (Continued)

Sebbyyy =)
Sebbyyy =): This is a continuation of Rod's "Moderator Feedback Open Thread". We appreciate everyone's thoughts and concerns.

Please follow the same guidelines set as the original post, all we ask is that you be polite and keep it short just like the original thread.

This is for users only, Mods won't reply to this thread.

Thanks again everyone!

MichaeI: I think what people fail to realize is that Mod's are human beings and there are different genders and ages and have their own unique life experiences which dictate what their Moderation style is. People are expecting Mods to be the same across the board and that's a great notion but life doesn't work that way. Take some responsibility on getting to know the Mod's style and their personalities. Perhaps then that would allow more social harmony. At the end of the day, we all need to find a way to co-exist.

That is all.

Chadwickerson: So, Michael...you're basically saying if you are a new user, you've read the rules and you think you understand and you get kicked from a room by a moderator that has a different "style" than another that they have observed in another room then it's that users fault because he/she should have gotten to know that moderator? LOL!

I myself don't chat much mostly because the majority of the members of this site don't entertain me. However it's also due to so many conflicting rules and creating rules on the fly that confuse me so I'd rather just not take the time to deal with it, but that's just me...

MichaeI: That's a good point, Wickerson but as someone who DOES stay in the rooms and actually sees what's going on, most of the new users that get kicked pretty much gave a reason to. I have yet to see anyone get booted that wasn't justified. And besides, it's just a chat room. There are far more social injustices than that going on. It's easy to sit in the cheap seats and say how things should be handled.

Chadwickerson: This is true, and I agree that if you have been here awhile you should generally know what and what not to do. However, there are new mods streaming in here all the time, and it's hard to keep up with the new ones. While I agree the majority are kicked fairly and for obvious reasons sometimes emotions can get involved when moderating, it's just one of the downfalls of being human lol.

While there are tons of other injustices out there this is the topic at hand, sure it's just the internet it's why I don't really care/expect to see changes I just like to voice my opinion because I'm quite opinionated.

The_Under_Dog: Michael says - "Take some responsibility on getting to know the Mod's style and their personalities."

Sorry Michael I disagree with you.

Why should people have to change who they are and how they act for the mods? If mods have a problem dealing with a variety of personalities / opinions / chatting styles then maybe they shouldn't be mods. The mods are not here to enforce their versions of society/chat on users, but to ensure the rules are being followed. Users should only have to learn one set of rules, not 10 versions of it.

And I also totally agree with Morsy.

MichaeI: Nobody is asking anyone to change who they are. Just simply follow the rules. They aren't that tough. I've been here for 2 years and I've been suspended twice and muted once and each and every time I deserved it and took it like a man and didn't go on some sort of tirade about how the site is moderated. The first time I get suspended was because something was taken out of context and a Mod didn't take that into account. I say that because perhaps a different Mod would possibly have had a different interpretation. Either way, I took the 24 hour ban and life went on. There are worse things in life than getting suspended from a chat site for 24 hours.
