Space Elevator (The Epic Tower)

There is tube that is large in circumference. Another tube that is inside that tube. Kind of like that cup you took out camping and it you pull it out into a cup and its made of these round plastic rings and they pull out into a cup or press flat.
Electromagnets hold the structure up. It holds the tower up with 7 or 8 points of contact.
The Electromagnets lighten the tower.
And the tower can extend up when in use and then slowly deactivate the Electromagnets to let the building slide back down into itself.
It has tube within tube several times and then it Extends and Vice Versa.
It can ascend and then descend or elevate and de'elevate.
Now Each Segment of the Epic Tower Space Elevator is Lighter by the Magnets on each Section reaching to the Heavens.. that means that the base is not taking the weight but the base magnets are. and they are solid steel.

Corwin: Your fundamental flaw with this idea is the assumption that magnets would somehow create "lift" or reduce the weight somehow.
All that those magnets would do is create a repelling force between each other, but the weight of the matter would still transfer to the matter below it... there would be no "lift" somehow created.
Matter already has a repelling force even when magnets aren't involved, which is why your coffee mug doesn't pass through the coffee table... but the coffee mug isn't being "lifted" (which implies that there is some sort of "work" being done), but rather it is merely being "supported", or suspended from below. The weight of the coffee mug is added to the coffee table.
Just as the weight of each segment of your tower will be suspended by the one beneath, and the weight will be transferred down.
Having a base to your tower with a repulsive magnetic field still makes no difference... the weight will still be transferred to the surrounding ground. Magnets do not counteract gravity, nor do they eliminate weight.
A simple experiment you can perform to demonstrate this:
Take a coffee mug and place it on a scale and weight it.
Then suspend the coffee mug above the scale by placing magnets beneath it with the same poles to each other.
Then weigh it again... you will find that the mug weighs the same... even more in fact, as you will also add the weight of the magnets themselves.

Corwin: Why won't the base take all the weight? What difference does it make if there are magnets at the base or not? As I said, magnets do not counteract gravity, nor do they somehow eliminate weight. If fact, I don't see how the magnets are performing any useful function whatsoever.
They're supporting the weight from above, but so do ordinary bricks. What prevents the weight from transferring through the magnetic base to the surrounding Earth?
You keep using the term "lift", but the magnets aren't lifting, they're merely supporting the weight from above by pushing against the support from beneath.
The term "lifting" suggests that "work" is being done... but in Newtonian Physics, work is calculated by [force] x [distance], but as the height of your tower remains the same, there is no distance being traversed in the equation, and therefore no "lift" and no "work" being done.
Your magnets are just simply "there". And so is all the mass, and so is the gravity.
Surely you must be able to understand this.
Perform my coffee mug experiment and see for yourself. Good Science is not just about creating a hypothesis, but about testing that hypothesis through experimentation and observation.

The repulsive magnetic force ain't doing jack-shit in regards to reducing the weight from above, it's merely supporting the weight from below, which is no different than if the magnetic force wasn't there at all. The scale is still taking the brunt of the weight regardless.

The magnets are places at certain levels at the 50th floor the 100th floor whatever..
The Magnets want to PUSH AWAY from Each other.. Causing LIFT on the Center Tower
Displacing Weight from the tower to the magnets into the base magnet

You're replacing some of the bulk of the mass of what the tower would be if it was a solid structure, and replacing that bulk with a magnetic field which doesn't weigh anything.
Have I got that right?

I still don't see what the point is of all those electromagnets. Electromagnets are really heavy.
Wouldn't it just make more sense to build a solid structure out of something lightweight like aluminum or reinforced carbon-fiber?
Zereous Excentris: the magnets want to rise lifting up on the structure even though they are heavy and the Electricity just boosts it.. Normaly they wont want to rise and they would just press against each other but this tower can be formulated around to work with smaller magnets..
like.. that Junk yard dog that picks up steel out of a trash heep to sort alloy from aluminum and stuff

How is a series of repulsive electromagnets going to be lighter than a solid structure made out of aluminum?
Zereous Excentris: I do agree with You that magnets are heavy but that is solved by the fact that the magnets want to push away from each other.. they want to rise using magnetic fields instead of fall from there weight cancling out the fact that they are heavy

it can be shaped like whatever for all i care as long as it makes a tower that Scrapes space allowing us to launch packages into space with ease
Corwin: Magnets will not somehow cancel out the weight above it... I demonstrated that with my hypothetical coffee mug experiment.
Magnets do not make things "hover weightlessly" above them... the a repelling magnetic force does not revoke the Laws of Gravity.
