ITS FOOTBALL, NOT SOCCER!!! i have said it once and will say it again, the only football....is aussie rules, soccer is soccer, then you have rugby and the other one, from america, i dont even know what thats called, because its unimportant......a real man plays footy (aussie rules, for those who are slow to catch on)  Does it matter what you call? You can call Baseball "Steroid inducing bat-swinging borefest time" and wouldn't it still be baseball? I understand your frustration though...culture differences can be a b#^xy sometimes, can't it? Americans have to be different and superior to the rest of the world Football- anywhere in the world it is played/kicked with your feet goalkeeper is exempt. Football in the USA is basically what Aussies call Ruby. Ruby is played by MEN American football is played by big fragile men with a lot of equipment so they don't get hurt Sad bunch.  North America = Soccer Europe = football Its not our fault that that our neighbors/friends confused their hands with their feet. I love football better. even when i say it i mean pigskin football. i play iit and i love watching it. soccer is fun but it get s boring. STRIFE For me, since I'm American, i've got to go with football. I'm an Eagles fan since the Randall Cunningham, Reggie White days. Soccer is cool though, so is rugby. let the americans call football soccer coz they SIMPLY could not think of a name for one of their own national sports which is sad, why not touchdown ball, crash helmet ball or even men-in-tights ball, lose the tights it doesnt look very macho does it i say...its football, (or soccer for those illiterate people) lets face it, which sport was invented first? When they very rarely kick the ball with there foot plus its not really a ball they use , I know over here they are called rugby balls but really there not really balls??????????????? And just for the record, soccer players could learn a thing or 2 from aussie rules football players and rugby players...as in if they get a little tap on the ankle, they don't have to collapse in a screaming heap, rolling around the ground, like they've been shot. It really is pathetic the way "soccer" players carry on. Having said that, I still like English "soccer" and follow it closely.  It's football! If you follow the game and watch the World Cup there is one way to explain it... FIFA! Soccer players might be very skilful...but they're still laughable the way they go about trying to scam a free kick...... I couldn't care less if God wants it to be called football mate!!!!! I'm callin' it soccer, along with billions of others!!!
