soloturtle: The new season has begun. I hate reality shows, but this one has always kept me enthralled. I felt bad this time for the first girl to go, Marrisa. Usually I don't care much about the first few because we haven't gotten to know them yet. In this case, however, I quickly learned what a waste of flesh and bones Russell was and it saddened me to see Marrisa - who seemed like a sweet kid - not even get a chance. Such is the game. I feel this season's game will become known as the "I Hate Russell Show".
lois_lane: LOLS....Russell isnt even the kind of weasel that you would like..AKA The evil Dr Will On Big brother...hes just an ass..What a horrible story to tell..Who lies about being in katrina and losing their dog..It was just tactless!!!Its one thing to lie about a dead grandmother (Johnny for skin will pay for that one!! lols) BUT its another thing to lie about such a tragedy that people are still trying to clean up and recover from to this day!!!Hes an idiot and just to say that you will show everyone how easy it is to WIN this game..THE NERVE..im sure the past casts would beg to differ!!!And to burn the one poor dudes socks and then to dump out everyones water..Like are you a moron??Thats messing with their survival now..its like throwing out food on them...HELLO IDIOT YOUR IN THE JUNGLE BABY!!! YOUR GUNNA DIE...I hope hes next voted out and I liked marissa too!!..Its always the way eh...
soloturtle: I agree Lois. The guy is a tool, especially with the Katrina story. It was hard enough putting up with Coach last season, I pray Russell doesn't last very long. I'd rather spend the time getting to know people instead of the attention being focused on a jack-ass who likes to make others miserable.
jjasmine: not just survivals and big brothers and all the others - I find those shows to be disgusting - life is hard enough not to need any extra misery on TV - and how low can ppl go for THE money prize...
soloturtle: That Russell dude owns an oil company.... he doesn't need the money. He's just one of those people who likes to stir up trouble and watch people suffer. Kind of shows everyone what big oil is all about.
jjasmine: well - whatever the case - each reality show sooner or later turns into low-life-Jerry-look-like thing - hate it/them.
lois_lane: This season looks like its going to be a good one...I hope they figured out that fools M.O before he does anymore damage...But from the looks of it..He seems like hes going to be in everyones business and he got rid of Marissa cuz she peeped his shite rite off the bat!!!JJ this is for people who like and watch the show lols..
jjasmine: (or, dear - tx lois, at least one kind person to keep me posted before I actually get there in my leather trousers, disguise shirt from the garden and my Swiss army knife...)
Keas: Survivour Samoa? What do the contestants need to do besides beating the other contestants - keep militants from launching a salvo of RPCs into their camps or slitting their throats when they sleep?
soloturtle: There are a multitude of reality shows out there that cater to one person or another. Survivor is the one and only program like this that I watch. I'm not putting down shows like The Amazing Race, Big Brother or American Idol...I simply choose to watch Survivor because that is the one I enjoy.
I created this forum for fans of Survivor (and myself) to discuss the show and the participants of the game.
If you are not a fan of the show, please pass through to another forum that does interest you. So many of these forums get bogged down in unnecessary comments, off-topic conversations or immature people just spouting off. If that is your intention then please create your own forum to do so.
This forum is for fans of Survivor.
soloturtle: It's sad when it happens, and it seems to happen more each season: because of medical concerns Mike was sent home. I feel bad for him because it's an unfortunate way to get sent off of the show. And, considering that Bob won last season (he was close to 60 years old) we shouldn't rule out the older folks on Survivor as being weak or not up to the challenge.
Let's talk Yasmin. The show begins with her complaining about how horrible it is to be out in the jungle. I've never understood some of the people who go on Survivor and expect some kind of four-star treatment. What do they expect when they sign up for the show? Maid service, clean sheets and room service?
Yasmin also lost any respect I may have given her with her confrontational, dramaqueen rudeness directed at the team she was sent to observe. She could have simply mentioned her problem with Ben tackling her during the Immunity Challenge - even made a joke about it and left it at that - but instead she attacked him and made a bad situation worse.
Ben, for his part could have apologized for being to aggressive and getting kicked out of the challenge for unnecessary roughness. Instead, he let his true racist colors show and then spent the night chopping wood and preventing everyone from getting any sleep.
It's easy to make judgements when you're simply a viewer of the program and not actually there in the thick of it. However, the two blond girls and Liz could have joined with Betsy and voted Ben out. Instead, they followed Russell the Terrible's lead and gave Betsy the boot. As much as I dislike Russell, he may have been right when he refered to them as "The dumb-ass girls" because they kicked a police officer out over a racist, semi-psychotic, poor sport.
As usual, the plot thickens and I'm left counting the days until next Thursday.
Oh, and incidentally, I had a feeling, as soon as he started looking for it, that Russell was going to find the immunity idol. It seems that jerks always have the best luck. Hopefully, it won't last.
jjasmine: (pulling my farming pants on to go there and show Yasmin the hillbilly-European approach by Jasmin )
Keas: As I understand it, the forums are where anyone can say what they want about things being discussed. If you want to talk about the show in only a positive light, then you are free to create a club based on it. Otherwise, you will sooner or later get criticism from one person or another.
If your post was directed at me, I merely said what I thought. It did not mean I did not like the show.
soloturtle: No, I was not directing my comments at you or anyone else. I was merely pointing out that many forum topics spiral off topic and descend into name calling, disagreement and arguements.
My only desire in creating this forum was to clear a spot for fans of the show Survivor to discuss the show as the new season unfolds. Both positive and negative comments are welcome as long as they pertain to the content of the program and not simply as a criticism of the show existing in the first place.
I would assume that people who are not fans of Survivor would simply not come here to voice their opinions but would, for their own pleasure and purposes, create a forum along the lines of Survivor Sucks or something like that.
My intention was to discuss the show, not defend its existence to people who don't like it. That's all.
lois_lane: Here here solo on your last comment..Now back to the show..I new as soon as I said(I know im late lols)I liked that older guy he would be gone!! Ma its like clock work eh..I would never count out the older folks like some do..Their crazy to do that(remember Rudy??)I cant believe they voted out besty...MY LORD what are these people thinking..Russell finding the idol was a givin..As soon as he started looking for it I thought..This shithead is going to find it..As he should considering everyone else didnt even think of looking for it with out any clues..DUMB DUMBS..its a shame it was him tho..And now hes trying to aline himself with jamiason the ones socks he burnt up in the fire!!!As for Ben...Ohhh Ben Ben Ben..If he had of just explained himself alittle better he would have been ok with out everyone thinking hes a dink now..All he could have said was..I meant to trip him thats true he was a big guy..But I didnt mean to hurt him and kick him soo hard..See how easy that was...But he chose to be an idiot about his explaination and now hes in deep doo doo..I dont think hes a racist tho...I didnt really get that out of him...Dont know..I think that girl running off at the mouth was very embarrassing for all!!!She didnt have to approach him like that and make a big ass spectical of herself while in their camp "Observing" My lord..Who the hell goes to survivor and thinks their not going to be going to the bathroom outside and sleeping in a wet ass home made tent!!!Is she dumb???I dont unstestand those people either dude..What were you thinking before you came...and have you ever seen the show???Too much eh...I always cant wait for the next survivor..I love the previews and cant wait to see the masacre the next time round...lols.I cant believe that other girl...(butchy looking thing cant remember her name)Didnt catch one fish but comes back telling them all *Hey But theres a ton of fish on the sea*...Another friggin moron!!! haha
soloturtle: That was Shambo (Shannon and Rambo). What I don't get is how someone can lose one of the only items the tribe owns and especially something used to obtain food. (The mouth-piece for the snorkle). How careless and/or stupid do you have to be to let something like that simply float away?
I know I'm not there, so I don't know everything tha's going on, but why did everyone just stand around complaining about how Shambo not only didn't catch any fish, but also lost the mouth-piece?
Why didn't someone take the spear and the mask and go down to the reef and try to catch some fish?
It seems like the survivors place all their hope in one person getting food for them and when that one person fails, no one ever thinks of trying it themselves.
I don't rule out the older folks either, remember Tina and Bob? They both won.
Thursday always seems so far away.
lois_lane: LOLS@shambo...I dont understand that either..Why didnt someone take the spear and say Ok Im going to try anyone want to come...no one seems to take the initiative to do anything around there..and then when someone finally does...They have nothing nice to say about it or they think their trying to run the show...Dont even remind me about Tina...man that season really pissed me off and thats when I knew what kind people they were going to pick to win the show..It was a real rip off for colby and I will always say that!!! he was one of the best players...Anywho WHOOT WHOOT tomorrow is thursday and it looks like a good one!!..
soloturtle: Well, looks like I missed a week. Ben got the boot and good riddance to him. Not much to say but I'm glad to see him go.
I did, however, want to comment on the fact that the Survivor producers decided to provide bikinis for all the girls. How cheesy was that? Being a male, I admit that there are worse things in life to look at than pretty girls in bikinis, but I am dissapointed in what appears to be an ever-growing (or continuing) theme on Survivor.
From its inception I always regarded Survivor as a show for ordinary, normal people. A place where any man or woman off of the street could compete. It stands to reason that active, physically fit people would try-out for the show and a certain amount of physical strength and endurance is obviously helpful in surviving Survivor. But, what I don't like is how the producers populate the show more and more with hot looking, skinny girls, usually with big boobs and usually about 23 years old. I find it hard to believe that these are the only kinds of women trying out for the show.
I'd like to see more of a variety of people on the show. If I wanted to watch hot girls in bikinis I'd tune-in to 90210, The Hills or any of the other crap they show on the CW Network.
Providing the girls with bikinis was a seriously cheesy move on the part of Survivor. I thought the whole idead was that the contestants would get by with what they brought with them. Survivor has never suffered from low ratings or lack of an audience.
That whole experience has left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
soloturtle: Last night Yasmine got the axe and left the show. I was surprised to see Russell (the chief) voted for her. She was good in the challenges but appeared quite lazy around camp.
While I like Shambo's personality, I can't understand someone who first loses the mouth-piece to the snorkle AND then allows a chicken to escape. And what's even worse is that no one gets up off of their lazy butt long enough to recapture the chicken or at least knock it out of a tree with a rock so the tribe can eat.
I realize that I'm not there and I probably don't know all of the hardships the contestants' face from day to day, but I don't ever see any of them working too hard to provide food. We're not talking about a wild pig or a big fish either. We're talking about a chicken !! No one can pick up a rock and kill it for a roasted chicken? What's wrong with these people? Two eggs a day from the remaining chickens isn't going to provide much by way of food either.
Of course, I'll be right here next Thursday waiting to see what happens.
lois_lane: Looks like I missed a comment or 2 myself lols..I agree..it was bens time to go..Buh bye!! Your first comment..I cant believe you said That..We were saying the same thing lastweek..Funny how they give them all NEW bikinis and not something like track pants to stay warm and see what they gave to shambo?Like this big ass sports bra..Which im sure she liked but thats not the point you know...Funny the differences from the very first show of survivor and now eh..Just like what you were saying..it was more Normal looking people (if you will)Like average joes..But now its all Big boobed women all young as hell and one poor old lady that always gets shunned..Its sad really...Yes next was jasmine..I dont even have to much to say about it...This next show now was too much..Why the hell is shambo sharing her info with the other tribe..I dont care how close you feel to them...She should have just kept it too herself..Yes it got everyone talking..But big deal..it went nowhere really..OMG hows your wet finger tips on everyone..Jeez..and theres no relief from the rain..I guess those soggy wet pillows and blankets are just not cutting it now to keep them from getting all WET!!!lols..dumb dumb dumb to not pick the tarp...See most are young and thinking of comfort instead of the long run..!So poor ashley now...I actually kind of liked her...man that russell is one sneaky creep..I hope he gets back doored big time and has no chance to use his idol bAHAHAHA like that fool james a few survivors ago when he went out with not one but 2 idols..I mean ..how stupid can you get..!So now theres only 5 people left on this tribe..what the hell are they going to do..And tell me you were not grossed the hell out with that food challenge..OMG I could barely watch lols..I would NEVER beable to do that..I can barely smell food I dont really like never mind mulched up guts and crap and ears and eyes balls that you have to drink!! poor girl tried...EEEEEWWW!!
soloturtle: It was indeed sad to see Ashley go if only because Russell still remains. It's funny that Ashley listed Russell as one of the people that she trusted. I noticed her blond friend (can't remember her name) also voted against her. If the 3 women had gotten together with Jaison they could have voted out Russell. Of course, as viewers, we are not there in the thick of things and we generally have more information that is not available at the time to the contestants.
It's entertaining to watch the people break down and become increasingly petty and childish as that guy Dave (?) did concerning building the fire. Once there is a minor blaze it doesn't take a rocket scientist to slowly pile on more wood and build the fire up.
I don't understand the survivor's willingness to stand around and do nothing to lessen their own suffering and misery. Then again, I can say this from the comfort of my recliner as I munch on pizza and snuggle with my cat.
If there is a God and justice in the Universe, Russell H. will not even make it to the jury. What a smarmy, loathsome turd.
soloturtle: Leaving the show for medical reasons is always sad to see. Russell The Good (as I've come to call him, as opposed to Russell the ass) was taken out of the game due to his elevated heart-rate and roller coaster blood pressure. I feel bad for him because that kind of exit has to be so personally disappointing.
Other than that, not much happened. The dual Tribal Councils didn't result in anyone getting voted out. We'll have to see what happens tonight. I have to say that I was doing other things when this episode was on so I didn't pay the usual edge-of-my-seat, eyes-glued-to-the-screen enthusiasm that I tend to enjoy.
lois_lane: Me either dude..I think I was cooking through this episode lols..I know eh..Poor Russell..That must really suck.. Did you see him fall over on that challenge...my god that was scary..Like the only thing that was holding him On that big piece of wood was his chin..When he passed out for the second time with is eyes open..YIKES...Im glad hes Ok tho..and it is a crappy way to leave but shizz what could he do rite???The thing is people SAY they can DO survivor but they forget that theres no food shelter or relief from the outside...The toll it take on you is just unbelieveable and I personally could never do it...Man I cant stand russell the jackass...Its too bad that The Good Russell had to go and it wasnt that dink instead!!!!
