My boyfriend tried to kill himself

tancav
tancav: I don't really know where to write this I'm probably not handling it very well either I work nights and last week I finished a night shift and came home to find my boyfriend passed out from tablets and vodka the first reaction was panic then when I knew he was ok I was so cross with him I didn't show him I was cross because obviously that would have made things 10 times worse. I now am making sure when I'm at work he stays with someone he is getting treatment but I can't help but feel like I'm part to blame as he wasn't like this when we first met someone help!!

FunkyBiscuits82: Seems like you are handling the situation well. The only thing you should stop doing is blaming yourself. The choices he makes, whether good or bad, are his own. Only he can change himself. All you can do is show him you love him, and help him in whatever way you can.

He's getting treatment willingly and seems to have not just you, but others as well who are able and ready to help him. These are all good signs.

theHating: Heavy stuff, man. I agree with funky, you cant blame yourself, you didnt make him eat that stuff.

Ya also shouldn't let that end the relationship because seriously, wisdom speaking, it will haunt you someday... In respect to him, don't make him pay a toll on your bridge.

theHating: He's picking at his own scabs, it's a dark place where the doors are locked.

The barriers in place to keep the mud inside.

The door only opens from the inside and he can feel your embrace through the door....

Or choose not to.
