srbiddy09: No offense intended, Sage of Bryan, but it definitely sounds like you are still waiting to be recognized for your good deed by your Boy Scout Master. LOL

Kathy__: Yes, I saved my brother's life. He had a form of cancer called Aplastic Anemia and was very sick in the hospital. To make a long story short, I donated my Bone Marrow to help him live and today he is doing okay and still alive.

Zophra: An elderly woman in my neighborhood lost her husband due to vasculairy Alzheimer. I observed the decay and assisted where and when I could. It is a disgraceful disease. After he died I did go to his funeral to honor these last horrible few years he had lived, and to support his now widow. Maybe that is why she felt comfortable enough with me, to leap into my arms crying, in a supermarket nearby, stating she didn't want to live anymore. And she looked a right mess too. I was so shocked I literally jumped back a meter or so, but my heart reached out to her and I have been visiting her since that day in the supermarket, which is a year ago now. She healed - as much as one can do at an older age when a spouse is lost, she is happy enough and she sure takes better care of herself. And what it takes is: she knows she has my support and I visit her every week, like clockwork at the same time. She counts on me and I have acknowledged that. Basically I will support her until the second she dies. I have become her buddy.
My take on it all is, if you can make another person feel better, even for a day, your own life is moving in the right direction.

Ang3lBlaz3: As a teenager, a friend wanted to go joyriding with some guys, there were 3 guys and 2 of us and i just felt uncomfortable. One guy liked her, one liked me, and they had a friend with them. So she was like they are going to pick you up first and then come pick her up and we can all joyride for a while and then go back to her house. My gut kept telling me no, dont do it! I kept thinking i dont want to be alone in the car with 3 guys. So when they got to my house i looked in the car and again something just kept saying dont get in, dont get in! So i said im sorry i cant go. They got a little mad and left. So i called her and i said something doesnt feel right im not going. She was like why? I told her i dont know i didn't feel comfortable getting in the car with 3 guys alone. So they ended up going to her house, she was like im going with them im bored i want to get out tonight. I said dont go, im begging you. Dont go with them! So she said i will call u back im going to talk to them right quick. So later she called back and said im not going either. I just felt relieved. So they left her house and got into a bad accident not even 30 minutes later. It was horrific, they ran into an 18 wheeler they were speeding coming up from an underpass under a bridge and the truck was driving by and they ran right into the side of it.. it knocked the top off of the car like a convertible would be. The guy who liked her was driving, he died the impact broke his seat and pushed him back like in a lying position. The friend was in the passenger seat he was decapitated, and the guy who liked me was hurt really bad he almost died, he later told me that he ducked and it saved his life. He said that he kept fainting blacking in and out and he was talking to his friend asking him if he was ok and he looked over and saw that his friends body was a few feet away and that it was his head that he was talking to. The guys head was lying near his shoulder. I cannot imagine having to go through something so gruesome. But she later said if i hadnt had that gut feeling that we both could have been with them when the wreck happened.

OnyxSoldier: A few times..it just happened more in my life..a pitbull ran into the program I was in and almost attacked a bunch of kids. But when it was 4 feet away I love head first onto it and put it in a headlock and dragged it out of the building..one time I was walking home across the bridge and screaming help our friend is lost he might be drowning. So I ran down the path and it was dark calling out and a mile from where I started this guy was screaming because his tube popped and I got him to shore safley and the rescue crew arrived afterwards. I was in the papers . Then when I lived down south this guy almost attacked two innocent people. But I saw him moving to them and put him in a lock so he couldn't move untill he calmed down

srbiddy09: Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend,
Somewhere along in the bitterness,
And I would have stayed up with you all night,
Had I known how to save a life.

mikeritschel051368: I have saved A couple lives physically and I would like to think just through guidance and example as I had A ten yr. Heroine habit which I have been clean of for five years. Thanks to therapy for underlying issues and just deciding That I wanted to live....I have lost 19 people I new in that world in those five years to suicide and overdoses .....However I have done some peer counseling training through the VA and shared my experiences and hope with other addicts and believe I have helped at least a few come out of that he'll and decide to live again.....That's not to say that my Rd. To recovery has been pristine as I have struggled with addiction to other substances in that time But I truly believe I have helped afew avoid suicide and odeing long enough to come out of the darkness and live again.
