Do You Yoga? Kittenz_Harmony: I was searching around you not able to locate anything in conversations on yoga. I'm wondering; What kind of yoga do you practice and how often? How long have you been practicing and your age? What have you seen as a benefit of your practice? Where do you practice most often; home, gym, studio? I am grateful for your sharing and if you have nothing to share thank you for reading. Namaste HardcoreHerbivore: I am doing a simple routine from a book called Yoga for Men.I only started it a few weeks ago.I used to follow along with a television show, but its off the air now. I try to do it twice a day,for about 15 minutes each time.I only started doing yoga to relieve back pain,so I could sit in meditation for longer periods.I noticed what an effect it has on chakra energy, especially the 4th chakra and I like to do it before I meditate. It has helped with my back pain and I am not sure if it is the reason why,but I am achieving a trance state now, when I meditate. GinnyTx: I know this sounds wierd but what I really needed was just time away...do a hen party with the gals these days it's tuesdays and 'bout off to it today..just peace time and or fishing just alone time helped with the "mental margarita" Kittenz_Harmony: The word “yoga” is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj meaning to yoke or join together. It most often refers to the yoking of a conscious subject (jiva-atman) with a Supreme Spirit (parama ta man) in order to reach an ecstatic condition (Samadhi, a “placing or putting together”). It is derived from the Proto-Indo-European base *yeug-, meaning “to join” as in jugular.
