kittybobo34: Enkidu,, 2nd law states that organized states drift toward entropy , this is often used as an argument against the increasing complexity of life... What they always miss though is that there is an exception in this law. It only applies to closed systems. ( no outside source of power) Where as life is an open system, it gets its energy from the sun or originally the chemical reactions within the core of the planet. In this case the law allows for ever increasing complexity, which is just what we see..... Hopefully that helps you understand it.

BelgianStrider: The 2nd law seen by entropy stipulates "completely" the following:

In a closed system the (sum of) entropy (of the subsystems) will stay constant -due to the law "of conservation of energy" - and when thermal equilibrium is reached it (the subsystems) will be at highest (possible) value. (ie one subsystem in that closed system begins with an entropy of 5 the other 9 -> 5+9 = 14 . The highest possible entropy will be 14/2 =7 thus 7 will be the entropy of both connected subsystems of that closed system at thermal equilibrium - the additional condition here is that they have to have equivalent masses.)

That means it is completely wrong to assume that the law induces any increase of entropy - they just forget that the "highest" (in our case "9" ) entropy of another subsystem in that closed system has to decrease. . Just because the total entropy of the closed system is constant, and that with the ONLY condition that there are no "interferences" to that closed system. (that is clearly stated in the first law of thermodynamics - when energy passes into or out of a system (as work, heat, or matter), the system's internal energy (entropy) changes in accordance with the law of conservation of energy.) - what confirms the unidirectionality of heat.

That's is also the reason why i.e. gravity can make a "closed system" an opposite phenomenon where entropy will reduce and thus the "system" will warm up... because gravity "interfere" in it by inducing energy in that "system"...

Earth is NOT a closed system in the solar system. In fact the 2nd law of thermodynamics CAN NOT be applied like that (finger snap) here on earth...

It is as simple as that.

They are completely wrong with their so called "2nd law of thermodynamics has to induce chaos".

Again they clearly show in both ways how stupid they are concerning "elementary physics".

https://phys.org/news/2021-04-stone-age-black-didnt-defecate.html

"Scientists have sequenced ancient DNA from soil for the first time and the advance will transform what is known about everything from evolution to climate change.

The findings have been described as the 'moon landings' of genomics because researchers will no longer have to rely on finding and testing fossils to determine genetic ancestry, links and discoveries—and it is thanks to Stone Age black bears who defecated in a remote cave in Mexico 16,000 years ago."

have fun and pounder about that...

Extreme right (in fact "fascism" is rising also in Europe I am more than aware about that.

BelgianStrider: I am indeed part of the problem, because I am with the opinion you call a hare a hare and a rabbit a rabbit.
So extreme right fascist - nazi movements are extreme right fascist - nazi movements.
It is as simple as that.
Behaving as an ostrich is in my opinion not the best solution in such cases. (BTW in most of the European democratic countries a "politician" like trumpietrump would have been destitute already for several reasons concerning his illegal actions, lies and the sedition of some kind
of factions)
It is a fact Europe Asia had experiences concerning the consequences of that kind of political "opinions". Parts of East Europe Asia, Africa and S America are still suffering under such "ideologies".
An experience that N America never had - till now.

BelgianStrider: There was some "wolfie" in Germany that did more than scaring.
trumpietrump, especially at the end of his first term gave also clear evident signals that he is able to do more than scaring.
As "wolfie" he gave clear evidences of not being trustworthy in his diplomatic relations (and also quite other matters)
Up to the US people to open their eyes...
Keep well in mind, if he can get a second term, don't be surprised you might get be burden with a kind of putin, erdogan surrogate.
I am not a real specialist in US politics and how it clearly works... But when hearing some guys of (what you call) 'gop', I have the slight impression to hear some kind of goebels, hess, goering worshipping their trumpietrump.

I am not a communist neither a "socialist" in here. I am in the European norm more a central liberal what mean I am for liberal trade, though with human empathy and thus with social support to everybody . In the US standards I will be surely catalogued as a quite extreme left wing democrat. Though keep in mind, west Europe is - I hope- not considered extreme communist neither extreme left wing and quite liberal. And what the democrats are proposing is in fact a - I agree a not perfect - similar social system, and that instigated by Obama....
Again I have not much knowledge, only the one news gave to us here in Europe.
Though what I read an hear from the "mouth" of republicans is that a normal empathically basic social system seems to be communism - question: have they ever read the "communist manifesto"?

AND there are somewhere down under two very silent entities (one with a kangaroo and the other with a kiwi-bird) that have been foreboding examples concerning democracy. (i.e concerning women vote right and equality Kiwi-land was faaaaarrrrrrrrr ahead)

pssst I have my reasons to write some names without capitals

MJ59: All this left right BS, I dunno what Iam, just me really.
I believe in social programmes to help the less welll off and believe free health care is a granted for those who can't pay. Paedos all need stringing up by the balls, and murderers convicted without any doubt at all to their guilt need never leave prison.
And those who gain their wealth on the back of common folk should then turn around and help those self-same people to enjoy a good life also.

That kinda stuff
