Several conclusions: First: I have to admit that I don't know Indian customs and surely not those in end 19 begin 20 century Second: and that has been also proved, arranged marriage do not exclude love, though that does not mean a white pass. Third: the marriage seemed to be consumed at a very young age - what implies that morality seems to follow some "natural laws" like the evolution of the longevity of humans - in the middle ages in Europe the marriages happened also at very young ages (well when the life-expectancy was some 30 - 40 years (surprisingly some religious zealots does not seem to realise that the life expectancy has increased a little more nowadays).
