mike54321ma: The mainstream media has reported that the ocean water temperature off the coast of Miami was 100 degrees F. It has actually been in the 80s for the past weeks. The normal range for August off Miami is 82-89 degrees F. It remains in that range currently.

ghostgeek: I have no first hand experience of ocean water temperature off the coast of Miami but I do have experience of winter in the UK. It hardly snows any more, which is a real blessing.

GeraldtheGnome: Regional problems. Why it really is so has to be looked at properly rather than just thought of in a way where it’s though to be a human caused global or regional problem.

kittybobo34: Gerald,, No one is making the Global Warming argument,, just commenting on how we have noticed a trend in our areas. To see a real difference in the trends you have to go north. Alaska's glaciers have moved back miles, several varieties of salmon aren't running anymore. The north polar sea ice was gone before June this year.

GeraldtheGnome: I never mentioned that anyone lately on here did, it’s just that there is no guarantee that someone will not bring it up. Whatever is true is proven about anywhere, too many guess what is true, any scientist also is not immune to making mistakes. I’ve seen and heard as many things that are wrong about a climate in any given region or globally when people do come up with that as I have about things that are right about a climate in any given region or globally.

There are also places that had a cold spell or hot spell once or have had any of that happen some times years together. So long as things are not like that afterwards for too long then no one should be paranoid and come up with some dreamt up reason about it. Fear stuffs up people’s judgement at times.

mike54321ma: The Climate Change brokers always bring up the nothern polar ice caps, but conveniently skip that the southern polar ice caps have been expanding over the past 20 years, an inconvenient truth for them.

kittybobo34: The expansion is the glacier ice flowing faster out to sea. Actually the amount of ice locked onto the continent is shrinking as well.

mike54321ma: Also, climate change proponent typically use the late 1950s as their baseline for their studies. That's because the 1930's and 1940s were exceptionally hot. (See above where 37 out of 50 US state high temp records were set and still stand from before 1950.) Those ice caps were smaller, then expanded in the cooling until around 1960. If they used 1930 instead as their baseline, there has been virtually no ice loss on either north or south poles.

kittybobo34: I am hearing very different information, There isn't very many ice bergs in the North sea anymore, the glaciers in America and Alaska have been shrinking drastically, I was in Alaska 2 years ago measuring glacier retreat and it hasn't been back that far since before the Roman times. Subs coming up in the Polar sea only have to break through ice a few feet thick where it used to be 10 to 20 feet thick

mike54321ma: You do realize that there was an ice bridge connecting Asia to North America? Do you believe man made climate change caused the melting of that bridge over 10,000 years ago?

kittybobo34: No that was the normal trend of ice age and short warm periods, as defined by the Milankovitch theory.. We should be heading back into the next ice age, not warming again.

GeraldtheGnome: I’m for what is proven beyond reasonable doubt to be true. Every time I have brought this up with global warming advocates they have failed to do it, sure I have seen and heard NASA evidence for what they think is true and that of what other doomsday scientists think is true but each time it was not conclusive or even convincing enough to think that any of them are possibly right.

mike54321ma: The earth will cool down naturally, as a result of volcano ash as it does cyclically. I would be more concerned about that and the earth's core cooling down than alleged man-made climate change.

kittybobo34: Ok,, True fact, the amount of co2 in the atmosphere is 2.5 times what it should be, Fact 50%of that co2 is man made, fact, the oceans which normally absorb the excess are maxed out and turning acidic. Fact, ocean temps are up a full degree. Fact the last time the co2 levels went up like this was in the Permian, and it was called the great dying as 50% of the land life and 70% of the ocean life died out.

GeraldtheGnome: Kitty. America is actually not a name that is used properly. Don’t take my word for it, find out for yourself why it really is not a country. The history of why the name was brought about is an odd one too. It shouldn’t even be named The United States of America.

As with all of that though check if all of things that you claim about the climate is true. Confirmation bias and religious like bias has buggered up your judgment more than once. Being told that something is true does not guarantee that something is true. Challenge your own thoughts and question everything that you believe is true.

mike54321ma: All your so-called "facts" are based entirely on the competency of the scientists recording the data. The people that know exactly how dicey weather and climate predictions are Meteorologists. 80% of Meteorologists are not convinced that climate change is man made or even "changing" at all.

kittybobo34: My Geology training is where I get the Permian facts, and the friends I have in Paleontology have kept me up to date on the ice via Milankovitch details. I have even been on a few digs such as the mammoth on the channel islands 3 years ago.

kittybobo34: So you need to pay attention to the fact on the other side because they are backed by the oil companies and everyone else that stands to loose if the status quo changes.

mike54321ma: What about the solar panel, wind farm and electric vehicle companies? You don't think they have a vested interest in alleged climate change? We already know from exposed emails from climate scientists that there is a history of fraudulent data gathering.

GeraldtheGnome: If a climate has changed then it is because the temperature has gone up or down for a very long time therefore the climate has changed due to that. Other examples of any climate change is by a prolonged amount of time the climate has changed in any way that is or is not also tied in with evidence that proves that climate change was or currently is true or both. Climate change is not just about any real or imagined example of the past, it’s not just about imagined examples now and it’s not just about real or imagined examples in the future.

Tim Flannery, he has had to do with fossils and so on. He has real and imagined examples of global warming of the past that he has talked about. You can find by his own words how inaccurate he was with his predictions about the climate of Brisbane. We got a drought here, from that he concluded that from then on each year was going to have less rainfall, well the drought stopped at first the weather was the way it usually was. Then in 2011, late July of 2010 really it rained and it rained almost all of the time and then ended in January 2011. Well after that happened, which flooded Brisbane very badly and areas surrounding it, the magnificent Tim Flannery claimed that from then on Brisbane would have far more rainfall from there on in. That also never happened, each time he claimed that it was an example of global warming.

He didn’t get one prediction wrong, he got two predictions wrong. He is one of the falsely claimed global warming experts. Don’t take my word for it, look at the evidence about it, you can find out from his own words what he predicted was true. He was wrong.

GeraldtheGnome: As for the electric car stuff and so on I can refer to a movie that Michael Moore, who by the way is not related to me, has as a documentary where even though he and the other guy still pushed his far left agenda he at least showed evidence why electric vehicles and so on are not the best way to go. They also came out with a lot of false crap that they still think is true. Carbon dioxide is not what it’s made out to be. Without it there will not be just Humans that die due to no carbon dioxide.

Some do deliberately lie about it all, others just don’t understand the data they have and others are givien intentional misleading information while others were given unintentional misleading information because it was inaccurate. Computer modelling, NASA satellites and so on are not guaranteed to be accurate. Many of them are inaccurate, others are just not worked out properly. Either way no evidence has been presented that proves that global warming is happening right now. Not everyone knows a certain thing, some people do though or at least one person does depending on what is meant by that.

mike54321ma: Another example of climate change zealots getting it wrong was in 2005, after Hurricane Katrina. They predicted with certainly that we are entering a new age of severe hurricanes for the north Atlantic. Then something strange happened. From 2005 through 2017, not a single major hurricane made landfall in the US. That 12 year hurricane drought is the longest recorded drought since that type or record keeping was logged since the Civil War. Oops again. The fact is that hurricanes and severe weather are more effected by el nino, which has zero to do with climate change and scientists with any brains at all admit that to be the case.
