Why is the climate changing. (Page 188) Fractured fairy tale: Prolly Duch government reduces permissable fertilizer content for agriculture and it's got something too do with Germany Go figure (Edited by Fractured fairy tale) GeraldtheGnome: Prolly Duch ? None of that was in English, it was hard to understand the rest too and there wasn’t even a full stop. Apparently governments have panicked around the world and have assumed that the Nitrogen in the soil and the Ammonia found within the soil are too high so they want all of that to be gone. That’s impossible. Even if they were right then they are both in the air as gas naturally. Tyres are a problem but no one ban them. Without carbon dioxide in the air the plants cannot produce oxygen which is what they convert it into. Without oxygen every life form that needs it will die. Without Nitrogen and Ammonia plants will die. Without tyres land and most air transport is back to the 19th century standard, I mean before the tyres now used. You can have too much of anything but their assumptions are wrong, copper sulphate is often used in organic farming and it can ruin the soil, also it’s not as effective as the alternative. When something in the soil can be turned into gas then that is what ends up in the air. The ground and plants absorb gas in the air and convert it to other forms of matter. So trying to remove nitrogen and ammonia from the soil is impossible because the gas is absorbed by the soil, then converted into other matter and the plants grow from it. Trying to remove carbon dioxide from the air is impossible because even naturally it comes from the ground. No one can literally get rid of carbon dioxide, nitrogen and ammonia, they can only be converted from one state of matter to another. Carbon of any kind is always going to be as a gas and as other forms of matter all at the same time all of the time. What is guessed to be right by the doomsday lot is not right. We literally must feel guilty for breathing. In New Zealand Prime Minister Overbite brought in or is about to bring in a Methane tax, farmers are to be or now are being taxed for each head of livestock that they own. It’s a fart tax. Imaginary problems with Methane levels there. ghostgeek: A supermarket chain is to feed cows seaweed in an attempt to reduce "burps and flatulence" and cut methane emissions. Bradford-based Morrisons will trial the supplement, which is said to supress bovine wind. University studies have shown using seaweed as a dietary supplement can cut methane emissions by more than 80%. A recent Parliamentary report said agriculture produced 10% of the UK's greenhouse gases. Morrisons' Head of Agriculture Sophie Throup said the seaweed diet would "switch off" elements in the cow's gut that produce methane. "There is a little bit from their bottoms but mainly from their burps," she said. [ https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-59218608 ] ghostgeek: So much for the cows, but what about human flatulence? Are we all going to have a fart meter shoved up our bum? Fractured fairy tale: There been doing that Here with the seaweed they grow as a bi product in the methane plans Shira Lankers PM said years ago he was gonna make his Country rich by 2025 by doing all the climate change stuff LoL it ended up Kollapsing GeraldtheGnome: There have been mistakes made on here. Meanwhile someone has made two forums in the science section about ‘climate change’ and it’s quite clear that the person that did that doesn’t know what it means. Climates have changed in various parts of the world sometimes the temperature hasn’t changed but it’s drier than it used to be, in other places it is wetter when it shouldn’t be without a temperature difference, in other areas it is hotter or warmer than usual or colder or cooler than it should be and other examples. In some areas the change has set in, for how long is unknown, in other areas the climate is changing at the moment and in other areas nothing unusual is happening. None of that is an indicator of global warming and very little of any type of climate change in most cases has anything to do with human caused climate change directly or indirectly by humans. (Edited by GeraldtheGnome) GeraldtheGnome: One clown elsewhere thinks that if I am not a geologist then I cannot add anything but 'banter' there on that forum. It's an old fashioned word, that person is a fool, if everyone knows why every certain climate is changing then we would have been told already, we haven't. In that respect we can only guess as much as those of the religious like doomsday cult of science can. (Edited by GeraldtheGnome) ghostgeek: For Shakespeare and his contemporaries, living through a period of sharp global cooling known as the Little Ice Age, the altering of the seasons was an unmistakable fact of life. Temperatures had been dropping ever since the 1560s. Fierce winters and violent summer storms now left regular harvest failures in their wake. As the agrarian expansion of the 16th century slowly gave way to the recession of the 17th, a wave of poverty washed over the countryside. It would not be long before revolution and civil war tore through the British Isles. For the Bard of Avon, the unpredictability of the weather was much more than a poetic metaphor: it was a material force to be reckoned with in its own right. The present generation is not the first to be confronted with the threat of catastrophic climate change. Although anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions are driving an unprecedented increase in atmospheric CO2 concentrations, recent advances in climate science have revealed a long-standing struggle with the elements. Before our early hominid ancestors learned to speak or even to walk upright, climate change was already shaping the evolutionary trajectory of our species, spurring on the development of bigger brains and the use of more complex tools. No wonder that scientists have referred to climatic variability as the “midwife of humanity”. [ https://www.newstatesman.com/environment/2021/11/how-the-weather-shapes-history ] GeraldtheGnome: There were some mistakes made. Mainly the stuff in the second paragraph. There's no anthropogenic anything, besides it's such a pretentious word to use anyway. Greenhouse gas emissions and the gas crap associated with that sentence is a myth. It really is like the religious fervour of religious fanatics except in this case it's about inaccurate science that way too many people claim to be true because they were conned into believing that it was true long ago. "Don't believe the hype, it's a sequel." Fractured fairy tale: So what Gnome You think I'm wrong So what I couldn't care less ,I'm not arguing any of your Stupid points, Your Irrational go away GeraldtheGnome: Learn to spell, use a comma when it’s needed, there was no reason to use capitals with the words, you, your (especially when you should have used you’re or you are) and so. Using the words that you couldn’t care less doesn’t make any sense and lol or LOL our any variation of it is just you being lazy. You just argued about my points when you claimed that you weren’t. I don’t think that you are wrong about certain things, I know that you are wrong about certain things, there is a difference. None of it is stupid and none of it was irrational. You though have at times been stupid, delusional and irrational. An example of all three is where on here you showed some anti-lockdown or anti-vaccine protestors in Melbourne after some footage of farmers protesting about something that this forum is actually about. You showed something that was against the crackdown on Coronavirus and didn’t go against that. That does show that you are delusional, stupid and irrational about it hypocrite. I was for most of what was in the video, even though the German flag confused me a bit, the problem is that the Melbourne protestors at the end of the video were in the wrong. Your last sentence was grammatically incorrect and it didn’t make any sense. My last message wasn’t even to you and no I didn’t put the video on for a group who I did want to see in order to back me up on here. Nothing about shows me to be delusional. Most of the time I do agree with Ghostgeek, please let it be the same in regards to you. He is clued up about most things after all. No one has to agree with everyone all of the time after all and no one should. Everyone should see if their climate has changed or not in their lifetime in their region before anyone even tries to work out if any certain thing is happening worldwide with the climate. Fractured fairy tale: Get stuffed ya understand English don't ya get lost stay away from my wood heater Fractured fairy tale: Oh it's a Ethanol plant not methane they grow the Seeweed as a Bi product of the Ethonol production Seeing as tho that's the only Combustible substance this Country can Produce and sent all the Oil Refining over seas Yes everyone moved. Too where they used too Refine the Petroleum Then whinged and bitched like little Nomes there was too much Pollution Go figure Fractured fairy tale: Geez Image that people with certificates hanging on there wall too boost there egos how educated they are, But they can't pull there heads out of there buts and think too themselves If I move there there will be a lot of pollution from the Heavy Industry that was always there No Dumb Idiots GeraldtheGnome: Your spelling is terrible, you don’t make any sense, you decided to insult others for no reason whatsoever and overall your grammar was terrible. I use ethanol in my car all of the time, only because it can take it and because it’s cheaper. I never brought up seaweed. There is too much pollution around, there’s various forms of pollution, I am not referring to imagined pollution, I’m referring to what anyone can notice. Did I ever tie any of that to any form of climatic change ? No I didn’t. Does everyone here at least agree that the term climate doesn’t just refer to the term global warming ? Some climates are as they used to be during my lifetime and others have changed. Those that have changed have changed in different kinds of ways. Why all of them have changed and why some others are changing right Is unknown. Sure some of it maybe explained or can be explained as to why they are changing but with most cases the answer is that no one knows why any of it is changing. To Ghostgeek. How was your day ? ghostgeek: Sticky. We appear to be having a continental heatwave heading our way, so if anyone's still alive come the end of the week it'll be a miracle. ghostgeek: Tempers are fraying due to the heat: The cabinet minister who led last year’s landmark Cop26 UN climate summit has made a dramatic intervention in the Tory leadership race, suggesting he could resign if the incoming prime minister fails to commit to a strong agenda on the climate crisis. In an interview with the Observer, Alok Sharma said a total commitment to the net zero agenda from whoever is to lead the country would be essential to avoid “incredible damage” to Britain’s global standing, as well as irreversible harm to the UK and international economies. “This is absolutely a leadership issue,” Sharma said, accusing some of the candidates of being “lukewarm” on net zero in the contest so far. [ www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jul/16/climate-chief-alok-sharma-warns-i-may-quit-if-new-pm-dumps-net-zero-pledge ] petulance is everywhere. ghostgeek: Something to ponder as you strip down to your underpants: Global warming has received much attention, but evidence from the past shows that sudden global cooling has occurred with severe failures of agriculture. Extrapolating from dendrochronological evidence, one can predict the following: Approximately once per century there will be a drop of about 0.5–1 °C in mean temperature worldwide. In some of these cases, perhaps once every 200 or 300 years this might endanger agricultural production globally. About once per millenium there will be periods of 5–20 years where the temperature is seriously below normal. The last major one year temperature drop was 1816, the year without a summer, probably caused by the cooling effect of the eruption of the volcano Tambora, Indonesia. The last decade-long cooling event was a.d. 536–545 where dust veil, cold, famine, and plague was recorded in Byzantium and China. Very large volcanic eruptions or a comet/asteroid impact have been suggested as cause. Nuclear winter after large-scale nuclear war is a well-known scenario, but climate instabilities may also be caused by changes in the sun, Milankovitch cycles, changes in ocean currents, volcanoes, asteroid impacts, dusting from comets passing close, methane released from its hydrate, and pollution. The risks associated with sudden global cooling are rather smaller than the risks of global warming, but they are real. A dangerous sudden cooling event will happen sooner or later. Ability to change to cold-resistant crops rapidly in large parts of the world may be necessary to avoid major famines. With some important exceptions, fundamental research in abrupt climate change is in place, but agricultural or economic research on volcanic/comet-dusting/nuclear winters and their mitigation is lacking. [ https://www.researchgate.net/publication/223767702_A_review_of_the_risks_of_sudden_global_cooling_and_its_effects_on_agriculture ] Fractured fairy tale: Agree with me or I will have a melt down and hide behind rap music cos a a woke wanker lol ghostgeek: Please be mindful that if you resort to that sort of behaviour in public you could tarnish your reputation. | Science Chat Room 4 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
