Why is the climate changing. (Page 187) ghostgeek: It all points to one very obvious conclusion. Humans aren't wanted on planet earth, so I guess we'll have to look for a new home somewhere else. How do you fancy Mars in the spring time? Fractured fairy tale: Looks like all these Politicians that are quiting will beat everyone' too it And slam the hatches shut before they take off Fractured fairy tale: Sounds like a Win Win senecio. Get rid of all the trouble makers in one go lol ghostgeek: Mmm, yes, but you're forgetting something. Trouble makers aren't happy unless they're causing somebody trouble, so the sods are never going to leave the rest of us behind. ghostgeek: It's quite simple, really. There's a clash going on between people's needs and environmentalists' desire to return the planet to the state it was in before humans appeared. So you either dig your grave or you go hunting every sod who thinks nature comes first. kittybobo34: Changing the way things are done is usually difficult, but compromise and education usually win out. If we keep going the way we have been the little guy will get crushed ether way. Fractured fairy tale: What type of education you pushing at the educees own expense of few hundred grand , What just say oh oh well the last Ice age they Introduced Carbon credits Yeah it's the people who Profit off it and there minions that push all the lies kittybobo34: The type of education I was referring to was regarding the farmers, in learning how to farm with less pesticides and fertilizers. We have the same problems with recycling, and trying to transfer the cost of it back to the factories that make the unrecyclable products. Carbon credits is one way to shift the cost of carbon back onto the generators of that carbon. GeraldtheGnome: To tax something under the assumption that it will solve a real or an imaginary problem when it doesn’t solve any problem at all yet makes a very new expensive problem, which by the way failed in Australia, when it was in here is not the solution to anything. Even carbon credits is a time wasting effort. Pollution is a real problem, that should be concentrated on, not the continuous waste of money on claimed to be real problems. A form of science with a religious like kind of sect that follows it has now become a problem worldwide. When Humans aren’t getting blamed for things that they have and haven’t done then it’s the farm animals being blamed for imaginary problems such as the fart tax in New Zealand. Pollution should be dealt with rather than the arrogant and ignorant belief that it goes beyond that. Colder than usual weather here, as has been the case, just as it has in any other place where it’s been so lately is not something that’s supposed to have happened lately if the doomsday myth believers are right which they aren’t. Humans are of less importance on this planet than some people think they are. If it’s a cold day here or in many places in the world then I don’t jump to the conclusion that it means that everywhere or most places in the world are getting colder so that means that I shouldn’t jump to conclusions that if it is the direct opposite then the world is getting hotter. The far left with their doomsday fear mongering really need need to chill the hell out and relax. They are way too pessimistic, this doesn’t mean that there aren’t problems, they just have to be realistic about it. Not that anyone should do this literally to them, each of them should get a ‘footprint’ on their backsides. Trillions or more in more has been wasted worldwide already for zero percent effect on what is falsely claimed to be true. That must stop happening. In the past before humans worldwide cold weather was around, as too was worldwide hot weather. If Humans were around then they would have been unable to make the temperature hotter or colder globally, all they would have done at worst is pollute the planet. They should worry about pollution instead of thinking that humans are gods with their stupid scientific mythology. Things are better than they claim even though real life problems really are what should be improved upon and hopefully eradicated if it’s possible. I want to enjoy looking at trees rather than being someone who hugs trees. (Edited by GeraldtheGnome) Fractured fairy tale: That's right how many governments we been through in the last 20 years since there been going on about this carbon neutral stuff they keep Stabbing each other in the back, I don't think one of them has severed there full term, Don't matter witch side there from, Nothing is true nothing gets cheaper as promised, everything just keeps getting more expensive, And the Country in more depth, The emissions are nothing any way on a global scale, But all we get is more EX bankers and hedge funds managers in charge Where has All the cops come from there are more cops than people , all done up like Storm troopers, Shooting in Armed people They that scared of there own people hey Fractured fairy tale: I've never seen so many cops in my whole life these last few years , They come out of the wood work , It's stupid GeraldtheGnome: There's pollution, air pollution, noise pollution (in a sense), land pollution and water pollution. Emissions ? There's pollution, not emissions, even what is claimed about carbon is guessed. You made some mistakes even though overall it wasn't too bad. What does carbon neutral really achieve ? Nothing really. Then again if carbon is so bad as they claim then the only way the world will be 'carbon neutral' (which I am so sick and tired of hearing about on the television) is by every life form, including us, as well as everything that produces carbon ceasing to be around. In other words none of us can have an outright carbon neutral situation and still be alive. It just doesn't work that way. I didn't understand some of the things that you came out with. Global warming mythology is like a religion, if you go against those that believe that it is happening and that it's caused by Humans then you are instantly referred to as a climate change denier, you will also by default be considered to be scum. Why is that so ? Well it's false to claim that anyone is a climate change denier unless that person literally does deny that there is a change in the climate. So who denies that a climate has changed when it actually has changed ? Not me, therefore I am not a climate denier. A climate cooler or colder than it usually is in any area is not a example of global warming. Here in Brisbane it is considered a subtropical capital city is southeast Queensland, in the state of Queensland in Australia. In a standard summer it's hot or very sticky which brings about the rain which mainly comes down in summer, the winter is usually cool or cold (usually only a bit cold), windy at times, but generally dry. It rarely gets above 32 degrees centigrade and rarely below 5 degrees centigrade. Summer, even though there were some very hot days was actually a cooler summer than usual and for what it has been here recently I will refer you to a website. abc.net.au and while you are there type in Brisbane hits second coldest daily maximum temperature, gloomy conditions continue across Queensland. One that I can't access because it's The Courier Mail's internet site is the one that is titled 'Summer temperatures in Brisbane drop to the lowest in six years. Now here's the problem with Greenies and others of the far left. if somewhere is hotter and wetter than usual it can't be regional warming at the worst but an example of global warming, if somewhere is hotter and drier than usual it is an example of global warming, colder and wetter than usual (like here has been recently) then it is an example of global warming and if it's colder and drier then it must be an example of global warming. To them everything is falsely considered to be an example of global warming. I haven't put it on here but look at Al Gore's own words in that infamous video of his where he said back then that in a decade that there would be no snow at Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya. Please look at the weather predictions for the next week there. If they aren't right about that then why is anyone still listening to any of them ? I haven't even got to Greta. It's like the religious fanatics, you literally can use their own words against them. The below bit is about the drought that happened in Brisbane that was followed by floods. In fact it rained almost constantly starting in July the year before it and went on all the way into January the next year. This year another big flood happened here, mainly in Brisbane and the result was that Toombul Shopping Centre was closed down forever due to flooding. Fractured fairy tale: What does Carbon Natural even mean Natural too what when It's all smoke and mirrors, And people who are rich enough too placte there own guilt through carbon credits ghostgeek: If you fancy yourself in the vanguard of the "Save the Planet Brigade" then you're need to change your shopping habits. Just consider how much of your weekly shop is wrapped in plastic, which, of course, is produced from oil. If in doubt that this will give you a few headaches, head over to this nifty article: www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2022/07/02/1109498551/she-tried-to-avoid-plastic-while-grocery-shopping-for-a-week-heres-how-it-went?utm_source=pocket-newtab-global-en-GB ghostgeek: Cheese, meat, milk, fruit and veg all come wrapped in plastic. Try to buy a jar of coffee and it'll probably have a plastic top. Pick up a bag of something frozen and guess what; more plastic. Trying to retreat from our unsustainable lifestyles will be like trying to ride to the moon on a bicycle; pretty damn impossible. ghostgeek: Just noticed that it's likely to be a good ski season in Australia. That should raise a few spirits. GeraldtheGnome: I’m not a fan of the word and at the front of a sentence. Ski season, in areas I’m nowhere near sadly, started very early. The ground is always moist from so much rain here even in the colder than usual winter that happened here which is odd for my city. Usually for it to rain here it has to be hot and humid, so seeing rain happen here is unusual. This is too generalized and some areas will buck this trend, here I go with it anyway. With areas in the very far north of Australia there’s an equatorial climate, that means that in summer it’s tropical, hot and the time rain comes down, in winter it’s still tropical, the temperature has either changed slightly or not at all yet there is no rain then. Then after that anywhere between there and at The Tropic of Capricorn ‘where ‘Bulls’ don’t always have nuts’ it’s tropical, so there usually is a temperature variation between summer and winter. Below there but roughly above and to the west of parts of Sydney (except in some inland areas) it is subtropical, Camden for instance has stunted plants because it’s on the ‘border’, Brisbane and some of the surrounding areas as well as most if not all areas north of it are subtropical, that means that it mainly rains in summer usually at least, recently is not an example of that, it gets hot when it rains usually, then winter is usually dry and cold. Ekka time and just before it Brisbane usually gets windy. Not surprisingly there’s not many deciduous trees in Brisbane, Palms, Tree Ferns and Gum Trees are what’s usually found. Elsewhere, even though this is a vague description and sort of not applicable to all other areas, it’s a maritime climate. It can be hot in summer which is usually their dry season and then like England or in the case of Tasmania like Scotland in Winter. The strangest place in summer is Melbourne that I have travelled to a lot. It can get to 40 at times but dry and hot at that in summer, yet sometimes when it’s hot it can also be cold during the same day. It can also only get to 13 on some days in summer there. I usually bring summer and winter gear when I go there, which for me is not much of a variation since I usually wear shorts in winter in Brisbane. There are some good things about plastic bags in a hot summer. Fractured fairy tale: The Dutch farmers reckon there already reduced there Fertilizer in the soil by whatever percent in the last 20 years This is the Problem these Crazy emissions people are never happy they Just fiddle the numbers too bolster their arguments GeraldtheGnome: Apart from some mistakes that you just made your Dutch farmers story was one I question since I saw the German flag. First of all why was that flag there at all ? Was it really in Germany ? Was it really about where it was claimed to be and was it really about what it is claimed to be about. plastic bags, except when they end up littered on land, go into landfill or go into the water are fine. What happened to biodegradable plastic and why were those kind of bags phased out in some ways ? In summer, yes, this is a personal odd habit of mine, I will put clothes, especially what I sleep in, into a plastic bag, seal it up by tying it and then take it out of their when I go to put it on, it's dry and it cools me down. The only way there can be zero carbon is by having everything that contains carbon gone. That is impossible so this means that everyone that goes on about not having carbon dioxide around are kidding themselves. Climates where they are different to what they usually are can't usually be explained. In some cases it can be explained, areas of high air pollution are different than what they were like when they weren't that way, not in the way that alarmists think though even though high amounts of air pollution are alarming in different ways. That can be explained, people are causing smog there. Why climates change in most places though where there is no smog is not something that can be explained or at least they haven't been so far. Illegal and too extensive land clearing of trees will bring about problems with rainfall and the soil, the change in climate can be explained there, it doesn't mean though that just because they have been cleared that it is a contributing factor to man made global warming. It means lower rainfall and at worst regional warming in that area, global warming has happened in the past and there is no reason in the future that it and global cooling won't happen again. I see no reason why either of them is believed to be happening right now, there's too many weather events going on that contradict both theories. Droughts can happen without there being a temperature increase to the area when there usually isn't a drought, floods can happen without there being a temperature increase when there usually isn't any floods. A fire can happen without there being a a temperature increase when there isn't any fire in the area. The Azov Sea did not decrease in size because of the warming of the area, it happened because too much water that usually goes into it became diverted elsewhere, the last major bushfire season in Australia was during hot weather, but before that happened it was a time when people in most of the fire risk areas did not do a burn off at all. It though can also happen when the temperature is at it usually is except that it's dry, not enough was burnt off so it was a disaster waiting to happen when lightning, arson or an accidental flame is set off by someone or in northern Australia by a bird of prey who deliberately lit it. Every drought, flood, fire and/or increase in temperature can not be considered global warming. If a climate is colder or cooler than usual it is not global warming but it is climate change, climate change does not just mean a warmer than usual climate. Tim Flannery claimed that the standard rainfall or heavier than usual rainfall was a thing of the past due to global warming, after that drought finished here which is what he was talking about he then claimed that when a flood came on after it was due to global warming and that from then on hotter than usual temperatures and flooding was going to be the standard climate for here. If that was the case then it would have happened. Neither of them happened and neither of them are happening right now. You can't claim that something that happened is solely an example of global warming and then after that claim that solely the direct opposite is the only way global warming is present . Did anyone actually check up the seven day temperature prediction at Mount Kilimanjaro ? Remember what Al Gore said before you look at it. ghostgeek: Let us imagine a world where the internal combustion engine has been outlawed and everyone drives electric vehicles. Will this calm the nerves of those who like to protest? Sadly, the answer is likely to be no because another menace has been identified: Toxic particles from tyre wear almost 2,000 times worse than from exhausts as weight of cars increases Almost 2,000 times more particle pollution is produced by tyre wear than is pumped out of the exhausts of modern cars, tests have shown. The tyre particles pollute air, water and soil and contain a wide range of toxic organic compounds, including known carcinogens, the analysts say, suggesting tyre pollution could rapidly become a major issue for regulators. Air pollution causes millions of early deaths a year globally. The requirement for better filters has meant particle emissions from tailpipes in developed countries are now much lower in new cars, with those in Europe far below the legal limit. However, the increasing weight of cars means more particles are being thrown off by tyres as they wear on the road. The tests also revealed that tyres produce more than 1tn ultrafine particles for each kilometre driven, meaning particles smaller than 23 nanometres. These are also emitted from exhausts and are of special concern to health, as their size means they can enter organs via the bloodstream. Particles below 23nm are hard to measure and are not currently regulated in either the EU or US. “Tyres are rapidly eclipsing the tailpipe as a major source of emissions from vehicles,” said Nick Molden, at Emissions Analytics, the leading independent emissions testing company that did the research. “Tailpipes are now so clean for pollutants that, if you were starting out afresh, you wouldn’t even bother regulating them.” [ www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/jun/03/car-tyres-produce-more-particle-pollution-than-exhausts-tests-show ] | Science Chat Room 5 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
