Why is the climate changing. (Page 118)

Sir Loin
Sir Loin: I suggested you learn some atmospheric physics Zykra, most AGW alarmists have little understanding of the topic.
I know NASA fudges data to fit the climate models because they have admitted it and when I worked in this industry I was told to "correct" my figures to agree. It is the reason I quit. I will not work for a dishonest employer

Fractured fairy tale: Zykra Your prolly Rigt oil industry wanted electric cars to just be a Dream there proved thats wrong . Henry ford was tossing up whether to develop electric or petrol cars for the Masses. Who Knows where we would be now if Alternative scorces of Power were Developed .
Stii the debate wether producing them Causes more pollution.
All these thigs end uo my Scientist is more Credible than yours. How do you know the Scientist's arnt right who Say Crude oil is Naturally Occuring in the Earth and not the result of rotting Trees and that .
Cos your Scientists are onto a Good wicket
And dont want to loose Funding

Sir Loin: Like every other climate alarmist Zykra is refusing to debate the issue as soon as they're confronted with real science Fairy. It's a standard tactic members of the carbon industry use to turn a debate into a personal attack then run and hide.

ghostgeek: The price of US oil has turned negative for the first time in history.

That means oil producers are paying buyers to take the commodity off their hands over fears that storage capacity could run out in May.

The filling station I passed today on my walk seemed to have all the pumps out of action. I guess they weren't keen on paying motorists to fill up.

kittybobo34: Ghost has a point, the carbon footprint is down by about 30% One would think the Oil Co's would just quit pumping for a while, leave the oil in the ground.

It will be interesting to see if the PPM of co2 in the air drops much at all, or is nature so maxed out in dealing with the excess co2 that it can't recover

chronology: Ghost, you raise an interesting point. Scientists have a unique and unprecedented opportunity to gather statistics during and after this global shut down. The last windfall for scientists like this was the air traffic shut down in the United States after 911.
The data gathered and studied after the shut down of aircraft flights was a little unsettling. It proved beyond any doubt that aircraft contrails were effecting the amount of sunlight reaching the ground. It is only a small shading effect but enough to need monitoring over the years.

I remember about ten year's ago enjoying a beautiful clear morning sky with not a cloud in sight. Then 5 or 6 aircraft went overhead at high altitude and the contrails they left in the sky slowly spread out and soon the entire sky had a thin haze of high altitude cloud. That was just 6 passenger aircraft. Imagine what thousands of such plane's are doing every hour around the world.

So you are right, it will be interesting to see just what the global effects of no cars airplanes or chimney stacks will have. Folks in Los Angeles are already enthusing about the fresh air and clear skies above LA.

chronology: Zeffa, the 250 carburettor is an urban myth. An engineer was telling me one time that any vehicle attempting such thin vapour injection would have major over heating issues. When David K 14 comes back he will explain it better than me. He looked into one back in the 60s.
David in his very streight talking way says it's all Bull Hockey.
