Evolution is racist!!!!! kittybobo34: Not sure how they are using the word racist here,, there are very minor differences between the varieties of man, but nothing that would be equal to a racial difference in the scientific sense of the word. AretoNyx: Guess one can say the human race is a thing but then when saying a bird is racist to a dino would be weird. HydroMan: Darwin understanding on evolution was racist. Black people (such as myself) resemble apes in colour and appearance, hence were less evolved than white people, kittybobo34: But, from the Black perspective, its white people that have thin lips, and white skin under their hair like Chimps. Fact is all the racial traits are just local adaptations to the environment. As far as evolution, black people are a little more advanced in several areas. Since Africa was the birth place of homo sapiens, they have been at the evolution game a little longer than the rest of us. Improved skin, sun tolerance, better hips they can run and jump better, Stronger immune system, Stronger Reproductive capacity. Where as,,Outside of Africa one might say man evolved a better cooperation strategy to deal with winters. Whites and Asians tend to work together in large numbers more harmoniously. (Edited by kittybobo34) MJ59: Claim CA005.1: Charles Darwin was himself a racist, referring to native Africans and Australians, for example, as savages. Source: Humber, Paul G. 1987. Louisiana House Concurrent Resolution no. 74: Civil Rights: Provides relative to racism and education about racism. HLS 01-2652 ORIGINAL. Response: Virtually all Englishmen in Darwin's time viewed blacks as culturally and intellectually inferior to Europeans. Some men of that time (such as Louis Agassiz, a staunch creationist) went so far as to say they were a different species. Charles Darwin was a product of his times and no doubt viewed non-Europeans as inferior in ways, but he was far more liberal than most: He vehemently opposed slavery (Darwin 1913, especially chap. 21), and he contributed to missionary work to better the condition of the native Tierra del Fuegans. He treated people of all races with compassion. The mention of "favoured races" in the subtitle of Origin of Species merely refers to variations within species which survive to leave more offspring. It does not imply racism. The views of Darwin, or of any person, are irrelevant to the fact of evolution. Evolution is based on evidence, not on people's opinions. References: Darwin, Charles. 1913. Projection. kittybobo34: I think all humans are racist, its how we think, we tend to group traits and character types by nature... resisting that and keeping that urge down is all we can hope to do. RoseLil: Yes but i think some people take it too far and live their lives in hatred of a race. .You can't help emotions but u don't have to foster what is irrational. RoseLil: The Dems want it, that's how they get votes.. they lie and want to divide citizens. The greatest prob is the immorality in our culture and laws that Dems made. RoseLil: Lots of bks hate whites and then call us racists.. Who cares what those mentally deranged people think.. kittybobo34: You are right, their definition of racist is different than ours. To them racism is only done by the people in power to the minority... to us its any kind of group prejudice. | Science Chat Room 1 Person Chatting Similar Conversations |
