Creationism is a mental illness (Page 11)

fh24: Good question ghostgeek - could it be they can't put their head around a natural system which is continuously & permanently changing so that who created the rainbow is just as silly a question to ask as where is the guy who made our solar system or will we get a refund when this universe is at its end?

What gets me, there are people among us who want to continue having stupid questions discussed so they can feel comfortable living in a free society full of morons instead of making stupidity a disgrace - you can't pass a law against nuts or lack of brains, but looking at a broader based intellectual development process where the ability to apply critical thought is not feared as being too elitist because it may just reduce profits for some in that mindless, consumption driven social system is about as silly as it gets ....

fh24: Yeh kitty, let's see if we can prod it out of him? lol

Peter, talk about free markets? It only shows how little you really know about global economic reality, how all markets are managed / manipulated, and how your simplistic perspective is just another ingrown mental limitation stuck in your head you don't seem to even know or want to care about.

Do you really think, these F-UK-US countries which just blew 1/4 of a billion dollars in one evening bombing Syria for no clear, certifiable reason because there was nobody going to stop the military contractors from making more profits, are taking care of the free market as you may have it in your mind?

With that & how lady May was going to trump the Donald calling it a humanitarian action the UK parliament was not even being asked to vote on this atrocity - and the people in all these countries go along with this shit instead driving these ruling maniacs out of town, straight to hell ...

What keeps these inactive consumer minds from catching wind & boiling over, Peter? Are they all like you, in such great owe of the free market, they no longer want to even know they have a brain?

Petergent: Kitty, what I really think is fh24, like all goofball conspiracy theorists, is simply a malcontent with WAY too much time on his hands. Talk about random, unstructured thinking. His leap from the Syrian civil war to his weird perspectives regarding free markets are indicative of . . . well, it's not for me to say, with my ingrown mental limitations. But I do suggest his space be kept free of sharp objects.

I am puzzled by Igs1013, he made a ton of entries then deleted them. Maybe he blew a mental right wing gasket.

lgs1013: Peter, I admire the fact that you're self aware, acknowledging ingrown mental limitations. A truly free society does not yield morons. And in the end, if there is to be one unifying system to elevate all to a higher standard of living, it will be the free market. Please read Leonard E. Read, "I, Pencil." Or, Milton Freeman, "Lesson of the Pencil."

fh24: ==> lgs1013 - the FREE market doesn't exist, as you should know by now!

If some thing is profit driven & the power of money runs the show, you get what what you got, a corporate elite, the military, the Israel lobby, etc being in charge of the deep state ...

All presidents, the entire establishment, including the legislature is run by them - the rest is window dressing to make you feel good so you'll hang on to your illusions!

Better put your books back on the shelf & pay attention to what Peter Joseph can tell you about getting out of the swamp of this vast, profit imposed mental stagnation.

It sure ain't easy because selling BS, trivia, sex & gossip to morons makes a lot of money!

===> kellyfarr

Well, my friend, you know how religious morons give credit to god for making rainbows & blame the devil when they get hit over the head by hail, eh?

When you are mentally & emotionally confused, you get really good at making up things against all logic & reason to help you ignore objective reality & feel better creating your own, personal make-believe world of oz ...

Geoff: Religious faith is a fulcrum by which the manipulative leverage worldly power for themselves. Which is why the most popular religions are those promoted by those who can wield them to get people to do what they want (which is why they're also the religions with ambiguously worded or self-contradictory texts, and based around concepts which aren't falsifiable ).

Creationism itself is a weapon used by religious fundamentalists of the dominionist variety and those with an anti-intellectual/anti-science axe to grind, for instance those in hock to the fossil fuels industry who are looking to weaken public support for ALL science as a means to sideline climate science.

What it comes down to is that good people do good things and bad people do bad things, regardless of religion. It's just that religion gives the manipulators a means to get good people to do bad things, "in the name of god."

Petergent: I find anti religious zealots every bit as disturbing as the most narrow minded, fundamentalist extremist. To blame religion for acts of control and evil is as big a copout as blaming upbringing and peer pressure for self-destructive behavior. Yes, evil people have used and corrupted religious dogma to their own evil ends. If religious belief and faith did not exist, these same evil people would simply find another vehicle in which to exercise control over desperate, blind followers. Remember, Hitler and Stalin were atheists.

Geoff: Well, Hitler had "Gott mit uns" emblazoned on the Nazi belt-buckles, so that one is debatable, but yes, a powerful ideology can be just as bad.

The difference with religion is that it holds the ultimate trump card - if you're against us, you're against god. With that, any vile act can be justified merely for the fact that the opposition aren't just wrong, they're evil.

Actually learning enough about anything to CLAERLY KNOW what they are talking about will always remain way too radical for their limited mental capacity by the sounds of it ...
