Mini Ice Age? (Page 58)

20 to 25 no news from Etna. So was the last blast if the biggest also the very last of these types of eruptions?

And that the European weather is either not influenced by volcanic gasses and dust or it is so sensitive that even a small amount can turn a summer cloudy??

Etna erupted again around midnight on the 31st of July.

https://volcanodiscovery.de/uploads/pics/Emov0464.jpg

Volcanodiscovery was silent about any other signs until just before the eruption when it updated it page with the back history.

Perhaps it felt that association with the cloudy weather may not be in its best interests.

Stromboli also has had a lava fountaining eruption in the mean time.

https://www.volcanodiscovery.com/etna/current-activity.html

Other reasons for the cloudy summer could be the change in sea ice, volcanic activity in Iceland , the changes in Solar activity, or all three together.

Sonic Peace
Sonic Peace: 186 LP and VLP earthquakes off the coast of South Africa.. resonances and fluid movements magmatic or hydrothermal . In other news, a section of Greece hit 49 C the highest ever in Europe, I think, Athens was 46.3. Wild flooding in Oman, the Sudan and Yemen even. Tennis ball sized hail in a number of places. This is not just one day. This is in any day over last year or two.. Maybe it's American Marxism, moon wooble, Epoch enduring atmospheric systems breaking down (like the gulf stream?) incredible heat with associated forest fires globally and unanticipated deluges of water submerging some European settlements that have existed there a 1,000 years. One report I saw 200 ml water fell per square meter, Oh, and climate change, but that would rule out the Earth movements. Not to be outdone, the largest bum tire depository in the world is on fire in Kuwait; 7 million tires.

The AMOC, which contains the Gulf Stream, is currently at its weakest state in over 1,000 years, and new evidence has indicated that it could already be nearing complete shutdown.

kittybobo34: The shutdown of the gulf stream would give us an instant Ice Age. There was a theory that global warming would cause that, too much fresh water (from melting ice) hitting the gulf stream, in effect disrupting the main driver of the stream which is dense salt water sinking into the Trench just past England. The Gulf stream is the main conduit of heat from the south to the North.

SWE also says the GS is...

"The Gulf Stream is nearing a Critical point of Collapse, new data shows, with the Weakening Ocean Current impacting the Global Weather

The Gulf Stream has weakened substantially in the past decades, as new data and studies show....."

I think it might be in part due to the changes in the Gulf of Mexico and around the coast of Florida

Volcanodiscovery says of the volcano on the Reykjanes Peninsula,...

" The eruption continues with no signs of ending, even though it has been going through rhythmically alternating phases of very low to very high levels. Roughly every 24 hours, it changes from one to the other extreme.
When it is high, the crater is filled with a lava lake that overflows on its rims and produces spectacular flows, as can be seen in the recent video below or in the view of the webcam right now (attached); when it is low, there is usually no visible activity at the surface."

So there is a two day rhythmic cycle of higher eruptions in Iceland too. But Stromboli has no reports since the1st of August except for earthquakes.

Etna has erupted on Sunday night, the 29th of August. The first eruption for three weeks.

Perhaps the volcano works to an older calendar but is silence except for public holidays during August must have excluded volcanic dust and gases from causing this summers cloudy skys?

Sir Loin: We don't get much effect from the Gulf Stream way down south here but El Nino/ La Nina have major impacts on weather. How do ENSO Events impact the GS Kitty?
2 years ago Report

kittybobo34
kittybobo34: The Gulf Stream is not affected at all by El Niino or La Nina, those events change the weather in the USA, but not sure how they effect other places, I understand those events are created by currents in the Pacific, specifically off the coast of South America. I suppose a chain of undersea volcanos could be the culprit in changing those currents and setting up a la nina or el nino event.

Sir Loin: Ok thanks Kitty. Living in the southern hemisphere the GS means little to us. ENSO events are triggered by perturbations in sea surface temps in the Coral Sea

kittybobo34: Sir,, the Gulf Stream is vital to England and Europe, it sends very warm water up the US Coast line toward England and beyond. Eventually it has lost so much heat and water vapor that whats left is thick cold saline, this sinks rapidly into a deep trench along Europe's coast line. This engine of heavy water sinking is thought to provide the momentum that drives much of the worlds currents. Should the gulf stream slow to a stop,, A new ice age would commence immediately.
