Unidentified Flying Objects (Page 10)
" A newly discovered asteroid designated 2019 EH1 flew past Earth at a very close distance of 0.06 LD / 0.00016 AU (23 935 km / 14 872 miles) on March 1, 2019. This is the 8th known asteroid to flyby Earth within 1 lunar distance since the start of the year. "
" The object belongs to the Apollo group of asteroids. It was first discovered at Catalina Sky Survey on March 1 and made known to the public by CNEOS on March 7." TheWatchers.
I don't think all of it made it !
Although a number of days had passed there could have been a train of small objects.Travelling along with the main body some of them fell on to the Earth.
Previous post on the 7th of March;-
Fripon cameras detected a bolide heading northward from the Pyrenees across France just as storms are blowing in across the peninsula.
Hoax or not, NASA has spotted a very NEO coming this way on the 22nd of March at 0.8LD.
"2019 EA2, 2019-Mar-22, 0.8 LD, 5.4 velocity and 24m wide."Spaceweather.
It is unusual for NASA to see a NEO so long before it passes and maybe this extra observation is because recent close passes have also been followed by meteorites and lights across the sky.
At 24m wide EA2 is a biggy and we could expect a lot of dust and small bits to be traveling along with it,
" A CRACK IN EARTH'S MAGNETIC FIELD: During the late hours of March 16th, a crack opened in Earth's magnetic field--not a big one, but big enough to cause a G1-class geomagnetic storm. Markus Varik witnessed the resulting auroras over Tromsø, Norway:..." spaceweather.
Sci-fi fans might remember that the Earths magnetic field was credited with capturing alien spacecraft.
Will it have any effect on NEOs as they stream by??
Sorry David but try the Globe Huggers thread, or maybe even the Greek Apocalypse thread if you can find it. This is for UFOs only.
Fireball in Russia. April 6th 2019.
The Watchers reports.
Fireball over Puerto Rico 09.04.19 Spaceweather Claims
Fireball over San Antonio Texas. 12.04.19
"A bright fireball was recorded streaking through the night sky over San Antonio, Texas at 04:14 UTC on April 11, 2019." TheWatchers
As the old religious festival time approaches there is a up tick in reported sightings.
The Lyrids are coming over the Easter break.
"A very bright green fireball was seen and recorded streaking through the night sky above northern Germany around 21:50 UTC on April 16, 2019.
The American Meteor Society (AMS) received more than 40 reports from Germany, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands." The Watchers.
Up tick in NEOs at less then one LD The Watchers report after NEO JK passes close by on the 30th of April.
"Asteroid 2019 JK flew past Earth at 0.69 lunar distances" TheWatchers.
The graphs seem to indicated increased observations in some months. Possibly meaning waves of NEOs passing at certain times.
Or some change due to unknown seasonal changes.
SWE looks at the Eta Aquarid Meteor shower which is now mostly in the southern hemisphere.
SWE claims ..." A bright fireball (meteor) appeared in the skies over north Italy / Slovenia / Croatia and was likely visible from surrounding countries - yesterday evening, May 10th! "
"A newly discovered asteroid designated 2019 JH7 flew past Earth at 0.19 LD / 0.00098 AU (71 807 km / 44 618 miles) on May 16, 2019." Thewatchers.
So 2019 JH7 managed to get past at just about two tenths of the distance between here and the Moon.
Should n't you feel more secure knowing it??
The Taurid Swarm is heading back in June, Spaceweather reports.
"..they want to point powerful telescopes at the Swarm, peering deep inside it" and test their particle physics too no doubt.
The Watchers reports on slight but significant changes to monthly NEO rates.
The pattern of steep increases one month and less the next had continued in to 2019 after being reported late last year , see post above. A sudden drop in numbers is as strange as an increase but to alternate between the two is odder still!
The Watchers page,-
Mean while sky watchers are not seeing any meteors and tracking systems are still waiting orders.
It is also missleading to connect greater NLCs with more space dust as other factors such as water content and temperature also alter the high clouds.
Could the Sun be doing something to stop us seeing the falling objects??
"Bright fireball over Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
Posted by Teo Blašković on June 8, 2019 at 05:41 UTC"
The watchers reports a new fireball over Brazil.
