Comets always meant something to observers before they were passed off as known science. This one seems to have something to do with biting cold winds. If these two were part of a stream then it is reasonable to say there were far smaller dust and rocks coming along with them. And at over six times the size of AS5 it did pose a serious threat in itself. duncan124: Floating objects in the sky? No, it is the weather phenomena called chaff. Caused in part by hot and cold weather close together. I have seen it myself in the US but not as big as this recent spate of Youtubes suggest it now is. I have also seen it in Australia near the natural gas pipeline outlet.
