Unidentified Flying Objects (Page 6)
Fireballs observed from Spain and Mauritius and Reunion on the 16th of September.
"The object was significantly slower, and of a much longer duration than a falling star, one eyewitness said. "It reminded me of the destruction of the space shuttle on its reentry, or the fireball that exploded over Russia a few years back. I very much expected to see or hear an explosion. It lasted long enough for me to decide to grab my camera, but flamed out (large, bright flameout) before I could capture it. I'm guessing we watched it for 20 seconds. Very impressive."
A side effect of the storms or dust from the asteroid that will fly close to earth on the 12th of Oct?
mmickey782: no UFOs, no santa and flying rain dears, no bunnies laying easter eggs ,tooth fairy and all other fake tales...we are the only planet with life.so like it or not, No alien life outhere!
Fireball seen over Arizona. September 23rd/24th.
New Super Comet could indicate new rocky debris and more rocks from space.
SO has a report on the new comet.
Fireball explodes over Shangri-La. 12:07 UTC (20:07 local time) on October 4, 2017
"According to witness reports, the object exploded over Shangri-La City in China's Yunnan Province. There were reportedly three objects exploding in the sky."Thewatchers
"A very bright fireball streaked across the night sky over western France at 03:36 UTC (05:36 local time) on October 5, 2017 and was recorded by REFORME's all-sky camera. It lasted between 3 and 7 seconds and was much brighter than the Moon."Thewatchers
Meteor over Finland.
The Watchers also has reports of meteors over the former USA ahead of this weekends meteor shower.
Xmas meteor over the Med.
The meteor seems to have followed the path of the warm weather as we experience a hot Christmas.
Yet another meteor reported in a spate of meteors whose paths seem to relate to the storms.
See The watchers older reports for the other meteors.
Loud meteor near Michigan The Watchers reports.
Yet another but bigger storm-related meteor??
Or a hint that meteors behave not as expected in cold spots? And that the evidence for the ice ages might mean something else??
Heads still up for 2018 CB??
Second near miss this week on Friday.
"On the other hand, the potentially more interesting asteroid — named asteroid 2018 CB — will pass by Earth on Friday, February 9, at around 5:30 p.m. EST. With an estimated size of between 50 and 130 feet (15 and 40 meters), this asteroid is not just larger than 2018 CC, but it also passes much closer to our planet. Asteroid 2018 CB will skirt by Earth at a distance of 39,000 miles (64,000 km), bringing it five times closer to us than the Moon. "Astronomy Magazine.
Watch videos and see links at;-
Notice also that the clouds have parted and there is a Sunspot on the otherwise blank disk of the Sun.
Supporting theories that;- Meteors cause changes in the weather; from clouds to clear skies or from Sun/ broken clouds to thick clouds and rain.
And that meteors and comets cause Sunspots from a distance as they head around the solar system.
Set your watches for 8.30pm tonight to get hopefully the closest view of the meteor.
Astronomy Now estimates it will travel at the width of a full moon every one to two minutes.
AN also has a downloadable map.
The weather forecast seems to be cloudy but we could still look in the right direction.
So what are to expect??
Well, if the meteor does what others have done and breaks up when hitting Earths atmosphere then we could be in for very bright fireballs whizzing across the sky in all directions.
At a 0.17 LD away at its closest if it does not hit earth then it could well alter its trajectory as Earths gravity pulls it downwards.
This could be a good test of NASAs backward looking radar as we would need to see if it had actually passed Earth.
Or it could stop and hover down over London at around nine PM tonight.
NASA has spotted two more for the 6th and 9th of Feb. "2018 CF2, 2018-Feb-06, 0.3 LD" and
2018 CN2,2018-Feb-09, 0.2 LD"
I guess these were seen leaving with CC and CB.
A case of "So long and thanks for all the fish. " or a case of good luck amongst meteor clusters?
So why was n't there any falling stars or fireballs as we expect from all the dust and small bits that should accompany such a close pass??
Just to add to the mystery the sole Sunspot has also divided into multiples.
SO looks at the sole Sunspot that arrived and then multiplied into a complex group at the same time as the near miss meteors at Earth.
Notice the largeish triangular Coronal hole which SO likens to a golf club.
The downtime could be due to data protection on Earth as there could be a risk in a CME impact situation. I remember subdued papers about the real effects of CMEs and connections to military satellite confusions.
In my opinion, it is a good guess that as the Windsors dine out with the Big (Great) Death the intelligent systems from the "Great Satan" will become more aggressive as they, like the humans before them, face this unknown force.
iqoverlord: Can someone stop the earth so I can get off this ride? Just kidding..... All jokes aside... Has anyone else ever read the strange reports of old about strange sighting and tried to give a scientific explanation as to the strange side effect during a close encounter. For example radios and automobiles stop working, video tapes are erased, one sided burns to the skin .... I personally think that kind of stuff is caused by powerful magnetic fields. What do you all think.
Once again the number of NEOs at far less than one LD increased and the weather took a turn for the colder.
The latest was 2018 DU, 2018-Feb-25, 0.7 LD away and 8 wide.
The next is expected on the 2nd of March and is point three away.
If you look on Sat24 you can see the clouds being washed off the Baltic and the whole thing looks like one large wind.
So, the knock from NEOs is capable of pushing the weather around when there are large amounts of it waiting to go somewhere??
Otterwalks has spotted a radar anomaly at Broome in Australia.
Otterwalks goes on as he does about "the military" and then complains when the Austrailian computers censor his data flow but he has done a good job in spotting and recording events in the radar system.
So what makes the Australian radar sometimes play up???
" A very bright explosion, believed to be produced by a minivan-sized bolide, lit up the night sky over British Columbia, Washington and Oregon around 03:15 UTC, March 8, 2018 (19:15 PST, March 7). The event lasted several seconds and ended up in a bright flash followed by a sonic boom."
"Really large meteors are called fireballs," he said. "Really large fireballs are called bolides... This was a bolide roughly the size of a minivan."
I think there may have been more of these as there is often rumbling noises in storms or heavy rain without evidence of lightning. The sound is n't like thunder.
So, what is a Bolide??
Not a lot is said about them and the only characteristic is their brightness.
Fireballs are just what their name suggests while objects from space are sometimes meteors.
I wonder if a bolide was first seen as a larger fireball and should be associated with storms.
If you think that kind of stuff is caused by powerful magnetic fields, then March might be your month. Also if you think Equinoxes, observed by humans for thousands of years might be special then look at this...
" EQUINOX CRACKS IN EARTH'S MAGNETIC FIELD:
This is called the "Russell-McPherron effect," named after the researchers who first explained it. The cracks are opened by the solar wind itself. South-pointing magnetic fields inside the solar wind oppose Earth's north-pointing magnetic field. The two, N vs. S, partially cancel one another, weakening our planet's magnetic defenses. This cancellation can happen at any time of year, but it happens with greatest effect around the equinoxes..." Spaceweather.com
