Astroblog has an interesting blog about how special the Super Moon was.

"The problem is, while the Moon is close this time round, it doesn't actually translate into something you can easily see with your unaided eye. Mondays Full Moon will be around 14% larger and 30% brighter than Aprils apogee Full Moon."Astroblog

The Moon seems to have had more significance to some....and its motions may have been watched for hidden reasons.

Another new asteroid makes a close approach on the 2nd of Feb.

At 0.41 LD its a good chance of a hit this time but it will be back soon anyway if does n't change course as it goes past.

" 2017 BS32 was discovered on January 30 by Pan-STARRS 1, Haleakala. Its estimated size is between 11 and 25 m (36 to 82 feet).

It will flyby Earth at 20:27 UTC on February 2 at a distance of 0.41 LD (161 280 km / 100 214 miles) from the surface at a speed (relative to Earth) of 11.56 km/s."Thewatchers.

" A bright green fireball illuminated the sky over Illinois and Wisconsin at 07:25 UTC (01:25 CST) on February 6, 2017."

"The explosive force of this disruption was recorded on an infrasound station in Manitoba, some 960 km (600 miles) away - these data put the lower limit energy of the event at about 10 tons of TNT, which means we are dealing with a meteoroid - orbit indicates an asteroidal fragment - weighing at least 270 kg (600 pounds) and 60 cm (2 feet) in diameter. Doppler weather radar picked up fragments (meteorites) falling into Lake Michigan near the end point of the trajectory."

Yet another new asteroid....

"A newly discovered asteroid named 2017 DR34 will make a very close approach to Earth, passing only 0.57 LD (218 880 km / 136 005 miles) from the surface of our planet on February 25, 2017. This is the second near-Earth asteroid to flyby within 1 lunar distance since February 23, and the sixth since January 9, 2017."Thewatchers.

Did the recent asteroids have anything to do with storm Doris?

I think it is possible. Not least because every time there is a close asteroid it rains here in the UK. The dust from a passing asteroid could well make the weather worse and as the weather has other wise been quiet, even stagnant for a while there seems a circumstantial connection.

" Asteroid 2017 DV36 flew past Earth at 1.02 LD " TheWatchers

Yet another new asteroid on the 27th of Feb. As there are also NEOs perhaps this stream of rock could just be due to new technology. There is a Javascript type orbit animation for each but little belief in any of them returning.

So has, as time goes by, Earths orbit now moved into a area where there is a steady stream of objects passing by?

" Asteroid 2017 DS109 to flyby Earth at 0.90 LD "

"As of March 4, 2017, we know for a total of 381 near-Earth objects that already flew past Earth within 1 lunar distance since 1910 or will over the next 172 years. This number is constantly growing as new objects get discovered.

In 2016, there were 52 such objects and the closest was 2016 DY30 on February 25. Its size is between 2.1 and 4.7 m (6.8 - 15.4 feet) and if flew past us at 0.04 LD (15 360 km / 9 544 miles). In 2015, there were 26 such objects." Thewatchers.

So, how many times has this happened before? I can remember one or two but shouldn't they have a proper name by now if they had always happened??

ASG seems to have spotted another one.

These have been found to be made of some types of foil, often parts of balloons joined together again after somehow meeting and then inflating with I guess warm air.

As ASG suggests they react to human behaviour and often arrive at important meetings and hang around. ASG has done a good job at observing these.

“Gigantic jets over Pilbara, Australia on March 28, 2017"

Miles witnessed 6 jets on the night of March 28 near a small town in the Pilbara part of Western Australia and you can see some of them below.

Gigantic jets, along with sprites, elves, blue jets and blue starters, are classified as transient luminous events (TLE). They are a type of upper-atmospheric lightning or ionospheric lightning.
Upper-atmospheric lightning is believed to be electrically induced form of luminous plasma.

The preferred usage is transient luminous event, because the various types of electrical-discharge phenomena in the upper atmosphere lack several characteristics of the more familiar tropospheric lightning.”

New Zealanders see fireball Thewatchers claim.

"According to witness reports, the event lasted a few seconds before it disintegrated and 'fizzled out leaving what looked like a star in the sky.' "Saw it loud and clear near Matata, a giant ball of fire with a green tinge as I was driving to Whakatane," Lee Barton told WeatherWatch.

Another eyewitness said she saw a bright green and white-gold streak of lights racing across the sky in a north-northwest direction. Jessica Te Kahu from Gisborne said the fireball was in her eyesight for like 7 seconds. Other reports mention glowing red at the end of a long colored trail traveling really low and almost horizontally across the sky. Some said it was a green and orange light traveling fairly slowly and low in the night sky."
