alpossmar82: Since invention of the carbon crystal ocillator, Thorium, gravitation potential and renewable energy will provide the free energy for exploration diverting games of chess to Mars. Not to mention carbonated man for long distance space travel.

DawnGurl: You forgot carbonated soda with Bushmills for your carbonated man on his jaunt to Mars. Let's not forget all the free vacuumness of outer space.

DawnGurl: Oh sure Corvy; imagine how much money would be saved if instead of placing the astronauts in hibernation they sipped Irish whiskey with soda for like 9 months on the way to Mars and beyond.

Corwin: Where do I sign up?

And just think of how much free energy would be at hand... as we would have successfully created Perpetual-Motion-Sickness.

alpossmar82: I've seen the thorium in action(WOOOOoooo) dependant to how it is rationalised or manufactured. Way safer than U235 but still shows levels of Sev rad from soil unsafe for livestock ok for humans, the great mystery is a phenomena in science known as photoelectronic spectra where paranormal becomes very strong on testing sites. This concerns human DNA and yes that million bucks is on offer if you can prove ghosts (I don't really want to go there) 8 figures maybe.

DawnGurl: A guy I knew had free energy when he tapped into a street lamp and used the electricity for his own personal use (true story here). He actually got away with it for many years but was, alas, eventually caught and fined. However, he DID have free energy for a while.

Corwin: The fact that the amount of free street-lamp energy was eventually reduced to zero, follows accordingly with The Entropic Principle.

It also verifies that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but it can be stolen for a while.

Corwin: I think that still falls under the First Law regarding Conservation of Energy... one form of energy being transformed into another, i.e. Potential Energy becoming Kinetic Energy.

If they ran after you farted, it would be considered a Methane Powered reaction.

calybonos: No no no. one form of energy being transformed into another would be if, say, I had them pull my finger. In my case, I don't even have to lift a butt cheek to get people moving.

Corwin: I think the finger pulling falls under Newton's Laws of Motion rather than the Laws of Thermodynamics.... i.e. "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."

Opposite? - maybe.

Equal? - Not even close.

Corwin: You're referring to Geothermal Energy.

This is already being done in places like Iceland where the magma plume is close to the surface and it's economically feasible to do so. Still not free though.
