Televisions don't record video, dummy. Try taking a video of a UFO that is at 50k+ feet. The more you post the dumber you appear...

I assume he was referring to the fact that playback technology is better than whatever recording tech these people use to capture "ufos"

Like the blurry bigfoot, loch ness monster etc images lol

Those ^^ images are from long ago.

Modern images of UFOs/UAPs are often from quite long distances & using handheld cams that don't always have image/video stabilization.

Newer higher resolution cams with stabilization & good digital zooming capabilities are becoming more common on newer phones, so hopefully much better images will be available going forward...

Corwin: To be fair to the US Navy, I bet that infrared tracking equipment and enhancement software is cutting edge, cost millions of dollars, and is likely as good as it gets to observe and track enemy aircraft flying at Mach2 at 50,000 ft.

And I'm sure that their personnel is highly trained to know how to read those flickery and distorted images.
Which is why I'd also bet that that craft was NOT "unidentified". I'm sure that they identified it as something like a delta-wing Russian built Sukhoi Su-30MKI, they probably knew which country and base it took off from, and probably also had missiles locked onto it the whole time.

But that doesn't make for very exciting click-bait. Now... UFOs shaped like "pyramids"... yeah... that's the ticket.

When photographing a flying craft up close... a "potato" would very much be the preferred equipment if you're going to try to pass the photos off as alien spacecraft.

zeffur: The military equip is no doubt better tech--but, a lot of UFO/UAP is still produced by the average schmo with a cellphone camera.

You can bet that some of the images aren't released in their maximum resolution too. I've seen purported NASA imagery that is downright crap & I can tell you from experience that NASA has some of the best equip in the world--so someone has definitely reduced the quality of images & video that I've seen online that purportedly originated from NASA.

Corwin: I don't know, man. I visit the NASA sight frequently, and I can't recall any noteworthy images that don't have the option to download in very high resolution.

As far as NASA "covering up" anything... why would they?

Firstly, NASA is a civilian operation, not a government one, despite the fact that they receive government funding, and despite the fact that they do take on military contracts. It's only certain military contracts that they may be required to be secretive about. But planetary exploration is open to the public.
The military needs NASA for their own purposes, but their exploration budget is like "throwing them a bone" so they can afford to do their truly important work... exploration that benefits ALL of mankind.

Secondly, one of NASA's primary missions is to seek out extraterrestrial life, past or present. If the solar-system was buzzed by an interstellar craft, you don't think they'd let us know? They'd be jumping for joy. And their budget would likely increase significantly. It would certainly put the question to rest whether there's life out there.

Like when that Annunaki asteroid buzzed the solar system from interstellar space -- our first recorded visitor from the stars -- they weren't secretive about that. They listened for any anomalous radio emissions and explored the possibility that it might be of intelligent origin. Turned out to be just a rock, albeit an unusual one. And it's not just NASA at work here -- there are countless astronomers, both professional and amateur, with their eyes to the skies... there'd just be no way to cover something up of that level of significance.
First Contact would (and hopefully "will" one day) be the most significant event in human history.

Or another example... about 20 some odd years ago, NASA detected an asteroid the size of Manhattan that appeared to be headed straight for Earth. This would be a "planet-smasher" like the one that wiped out the dinosaurs. They told us. Let the truth be told though the heavens may fall... but they told us.
I can't remember the exact date when it was predicted to hit, but I remember that I would be an old man when it did.
My plan was to buy a boat (the odds are that it would hit on the ocean), find out exactly where it would hit, sail to about 200 km distance from ground-zero, with a lawn-chair, some very dark sunglasses, and a case of the finest Scotch... and wait for the show.
I could possibly even get launched into space (I always wanted to go into space), although I could hardly survive the ordeal. But better to die on impact than try to survive the aftermath. Especially if I'm already an old man -- post-apocalyptic survival is a "young man's" game.

But... some months later they got more accurate telemetry of the killer asteroid, and calculated that it would just miss us. I was of course relieved, but a small part of me was actually a bit disappointed. It would have been one HELL of a show.

My point is... I don't think I'm so much different than the rest of humanity... I'd bet that many of us were thinking similar thoughts. They don't need to hide stuff like that from us -- we're not babies -- we can handle it. Humans are not nearly so easily "panicked" as Hollywood makes us seem.
When facing something SO catastrophic, I imagine most of us would say, "Meh. We all gotta go sometime, right?"

Corwin: Good point, Mets.

Perhaps they do. Our lack of evidence of them does not mean that they don't exist.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Oh... but regarding your fetish of wanting to score a BJ from one... are you new or something?
Everybody knows that the alien's fetish is "anal-probing"... that is, when they get bored of making crop-circles and mutilating cows.

Corwin: Seriously? Mutilating cows has been a Human hobby for thousands of years.
Which also leads me to believe that the cow-mutilating is probably done by human hands.

The crop-circles? Yes, I agree, it's probably just a bunch of bored college students that drank too much.

BUT... the abductions and the anal-probing... don't knock it 'till you've tried it.

I stopped getting abducted by aliens when they figured out that i was actually enjoying it.

"Either we're alone in the universe, or we aren't. Either prospect is frightening."

Another favorite Arthur C. Clarke quote I like:
"Some of the supernovae we see in distant galaxies may possibly be industrial accidents."
