I READ ONE YEARS AGO. lol... I wish i could remember why.  StuckInTheSixties: His most famous book is called "Cosmos." It's about the universe. "The Demon Haunted World" is tailor-made for you. It's almost as if he wrote it especially with you in mind. If you read it, you'd understand why I say that.  thisis26: I also have a theory (totally random but just throwing it out there) that Aliens placed their ships below the surface of the earth before humans were here and they're waiting for some kind of opportune moment to come out. That could be what those "mysterious noises" across the world have been! O.o thisis26: YES! XD I know, it's just a theory. I have tons more, my friends find them extremely entertaining! StuckInTheSixties: Those kinds of "theories" are just sort of making stuff up. You like the idea of those things being "theories," so you call them that. But it's just stuff you're making up, stuff you're essentially pretending is real. But, of course, no one should take those "theories" seriously in any way. It's fun to make stuff like that up, but it has no business in the Science Forum. That way of thinking is about as "anti-science" as it gets.
