Flashing light in the sky? jeletel: Last night I saw a flashing light across a large section of sky. It looked like a camera flash and there was no lightning, the sky was clear. Did not look like any northern lights I have seen before. Has anyone seen something like that before or know what it is? The sky kept flashing for at least an hour. ColonelKusanagi: have you ever heard of a strike out of the blue? lightning strikes can happen on a sunny beautiful day, lightning doesn't need a cloud or anything tho an isolated lightning shower like that is rather odd. when strikes never make ground they are silent. jeletel: I was thinking it might be something like that but there was no thunder or clouds but maybe its still possible. It looked more like a camera flash lighting up a large area of the sky but not the entire sky. I was also wondering if maybe it was a meteorite shower going through the atmosphere. About 20 years ago late at night I saw most of the sky light on and off for a few seconds. The next day I heard it was caused by a meteorite. Last night there was less light but it went on much longer. ColonelKusanagi: Yes lightning is very possible without a cloud or not, especially when it is hot but lightning should be brighter than most meteorites could well have been someone with a a spotlight or something along those lines. Lets not forget aliens tho hehe jeletel: It has been hot so maybe that is what it was. I have only seen the sky flash like that twice but maybe it is not so rare. My satelite t.v lost reception for a few minutes also, may have been something to do with the electricity. XFixYourBrainX: Heat lightning, lightning too distant for thunder to be heard, observed as diffuse flashes near the horizon on summer evenings. http://m.dictionary.com/d/?q=heat+lightning+&submit-result-SEARCHD=Search LustWitch: Where are you located as Im in Glen Eden west Aucks New Zealand and we get a flashing light now and then over our hose and its extremly bright and it like someone turning on a light bulb ihn space for a second. Then its gone, Weve stood out side watching it for ages. It may sound fkup but I have a little saying and I do a little signal and its like I get flashed back. if your for real and want to chat more on it skjaldmaer@g****.com Cheers jeletel: I live in Northern Ontario Canada. Thats interesting that it happens so much where you live it sounds like the same thing. I have only seen the sky flash like that twice in my life. Maybe its heat lighning like some people are saying. Although the only other time I saw the sky flash it was exsplained to be a meteor going through the atmosphear in the news. duncan124: The Alien perhaps. There were reports of lights in the sky with the one in south east Switzerland/Italy/Austria. PralineQueen: That happened to me once... then I realized it was the strobe light from the "Skylight Bar" a few miles away. Ninja Lucid: We have min-min lights here in Australia...its a natural phenomenon. They may call it something different in your country though. One Bar: I've seen a weird 'light saucer' on several occasions now. Usually white and at night, it hovers silently on its side showing its full plate-like hull. Sometimes there is a large rounded corner piece unlit, probably because it is low on power. One Bar: I'm not sure. I once watched it through binoculars and saw loads of round markings and cracks peppered all over its hull.
One Bar: Yes, I noticed it the other night when I was driving my car. It was a clear night - in fact it seems to mostly come out on clear nights. Perhaps clouds interfere with its antimatter propulsion engines? One Bar: Lots of people must have seen it because it glided extremely slowly across the sky for several hours. They seemed to calmly ignore it so perhaps it has a cloaking device that doesn't work on me. One Bar: Yes, it has been seen but from different places all over the world. I think it has even flown in front of the sun on rare occasions, blocking out the light and probably charging its photon engines or something. duncan124: Sounds like the "Alien" from America. I have seen that attack a plane and when it did it turned black in parts. Manchester Airport was closed for months due to"bad weather" They also have lighting effects on the ground around were they are based, see the UN report on the Italian/yugo alien if you can find it. That was in forest. duncan124: During the NATO bombing in Fomer Yugoslavia air strikes were halted due to" adverse weather conditions". Which means an alien. duncan124: I think it extended itself in to Croatia and influenced the Croats. The Croats and the Serbs were having a large pitched battle and the Croats cried out for help. PM John Major promised them air surport but on the day(S) NATO said it could not fly!! Not even fire a missile. The RAF was order to go but said the same thing....That story goes on... (Edited by duncan124) One Bar: Indeed. NATO have altered their shipping trajectories due to the "Alien" interfering with the tides. | Science Chat Room 3 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
