These are called the "out of Africa" theory and the "multiregional" theory. UWisc-Madison evo John Hawks says "The multiregional idea is identical to the African, except for its prediction that Europeans and Asians were part of the single population and didn't become extinct." Both do assume humans evolved from H. erectus. But erectus got disqualified as our "ancestor" this year! (Newsweek, 3/19/07, p55) says "DNA makes clear H*z~ erectus was not our ancestor." and http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/ africa/08/ 09/kenya. fossils.reut. reut/index. html?iref= mpstoryview says fossils show "H^$^ habilis never gave rise to H^~% erectus." So both evo-theories have been proven wrong by the newest scientific data.  otcclass2008: I don't really think anyone truly know how we got here.. For all anyone knows we could be Martians for from a planet outside of our solar system entirely.. Just about as likely as some of those evolution theories going around like we evolved from monkeys... If we did then why are there still monkeys alive today? Why didn't all of them evolve??? We can find similarities between humans and common ancestors with monkeys that´s why it´s commonly accepted that we evolved from monkeys. Evolution is a very slow process though and it can take millions of years, which is only a speck of time in the entire existence of Earth. Pokerman, your hair is brown because there was a dominant trait in your DNA that favored brown hair. The reason that most people´s hair color is darker today (i.e. black, brown) is because in industrialized nations they assimilate with the rest of the world (i.e. China, South America, Africa) where most of everyone´s hair color is black so it produces darker hair in their offspring when a couple with blonde hair and black hair mate. We came from worms originally, the sort that developed the notochord.. but so did all the other vertibrates. We def evolved from africa, the cradle of humanity. Surprising as it sounds if you are not a black african then you are one of around a 100 people who migrated from africa via the middle east. How does that sound? Now what can we say to someone that asks how did man come to be as he is today, there will not be an answer based on scientific evidence. There is one other answer that God created man.

I believe so, because evolution is based on facts not missing evidence. The Mormons/muslims/hindus/Raelians/Sikhs/Catholics etc absolutely believe and have 100% faith that their religion to be true, just in the same way u believe christianity to be the one religion above all others.
