getthederr: kitty bobo I never saw your comments or a few others for a few days even though I did check here a few times...yes about the asteroid...you are explaining how a race of tech savvy beings with a strong internal structure able to survive in space could use objects to make useful ships...indeed...btw I heard the cockroach was said to be a likely survivor of any full world nuke war on earth...so some type of life from other worlds with that kind of makeup could do well in long range space exploration....err...or conquest of other worlds....oops damn I just threw a loving god under the bus....oh well....we are not able to hold up well in space....

kittybobo34: Getthederr,, sorry been on vacation, back to civilization now. Yes, I have heard that cockroach comment many times, in fact worked at GE for a while there around radioactive sources. The Cockroaches, and wasps get gigantic, and often have to be tracked down.

kittybobo34: Getthederr, You are right we dont hold up well in space, which is why we need a few things to help us get there and hold on.
1) functional drone robots, so the work can be done outside while the operator stays inside
2) a comet or ice asteroid big enough to hollow out, but small enough to maneuver into place at the la Grange point. (la Grange-- gravity neutral point between earth and the moon)
3) an efficiently engineered balancing system to keep any wobbling out, once we spin it up to attain some simulated gravity inside.
From that point on we would have a base of operations that is nearly self sufficient. All the fuel, energy, shielding, and water we would need to keep a permanent presence in space.

Corwin: When the day comes that humans have truly "colonized space", and live out their entire lives there from birth to death, it will introduce a new kind of "environmental pressure" on our lineage, which would lead to a rapid punctuated step in human evolution.

There would be high infant-mortality, and greatly decreased life-spans for many of those humans... but after many generations, those born with the right genetic tolerance for those conditions will be favored by natural-selection. Things like a higher tolerance for radiation, and the ability to maintain sufficient bone-density in a micro-gravity environment. Probably the inherent ability to not become nauseous or disoriented when there's no "up" for reference, and other traits that we can't yet imagine.

Eventually those descendants would be considered a new sub-species... Homo Sapiens Cosmicus, and would likely be so uniquely adapted for that environment that they could never set foot on a planet with Earth-like gravity.

And perhaps when those of us trapped down here in Earth's gravity-well go the way of the dinosaurs, Homo Sapiens Cosmicus will be all that remains of us, and be the ones who will carry the torch of humanity to the stars.

kittybobo34: Quite possible, that is a tenant of evolution, when a successful species so dominates the environment, it expands into new niches and divides into multiple subspecies.

getthederr: hah I see,.. well there is a difference between what Earthers think an intergalactic mission to earth solar system would look like versus the actual advanced race of beings doing the mission...grins...the entire thing is a ship. That is, in the realm of possibilities, it is a ship... a starseed mission to start life on earth a million years ago for all we know...or it got here 50 yrs ago ( guess any number here) and was sent to investigate earth....the race would have to know there was already higher intel life on it to finance and build such as platform...if it did not send its own starseed mission to create intel life on earth.

Corwin: I've studied the highest resolution photos from the Rosetta mission, and you know what it looks like? A comet.

I just did another image search based on the idea of the whole ET thing (which is news to me, but not at all surprising), and looked at what people were claiming were "alien buildings", "alien bodies", "alien spacecraft"... you know what they looked like to me? Rocks... rock outcroppings... shadows.

Every time new photos are released of Mars, or Venus, or the Moon (and now a comet), people see all kinds of crazy crap in those images. People see what they want to see, and if they want to see alien artifacts then that's what they're going to see.

But the entire comet being a giant alien spacecraft disguised as a space rock?? If an advanced alien technology could disguise a giant spaceship to look like space rock, wouldn't you think they would do such a convincing job of it so we would be fooled?

Comets are buzzing in and out of the inner solar system all the time, and 67P doesn't even stray that far... it's a "short period" comet that doesn't go much farther than Jupiter's orbit, then swings around between the orbit of Mars and Earth, and does this every 6 1/2 years. If THAT'S an alien spaceship then maybe ALL comets are.
I'd place my bets that it's just an ordinary comet.

I'm surprised you're not making more of a big deal about asteroid A/2017 UI, dubbed "Moumuamua". That one came screaming in from interstellar space at unheard of speed (something we assumed happens but had never seen before). About 600 meters long, elongated in shape, came in at an angle well above the plane of ecliptic at over 90,000 km/h, rounded the Sun inside the orbit of Mercury, and set back out on an new trajectory at the increased speed of almost 160,000 km/h. (a result of gravitational sling-shotting). It's heading back out to interstellar space.
I'd figure guys like you would be having a field-day with that one, rather than squinting your eyes to see alien buildings on a common short-period comet.

Here's a NASA article about it ---> https://www.nasa.gov/feature/jpl/small-asteroid-or-comet-visits-from-beyond-the-solar-system
You're welcome.

I never tried to imply it would be easy to see the building of the 67P as a ship but you seem to know a lot about intergalactic races...more than me I guess...grins....my work is out there....I will see if its in my damn profile pics...

getthederr: I added 2 images...I didn't want to go thru the whole set...a part of a wall was blasted from a collision with a meteor in its past...or a war fight...that blast revealed the massive block retainers in case of impacts... they are huge blocks in the frame of the ship itself...yes be amazed all you want...I been a ufo researcher since 1991 and I am blocked from the public...you have a lot of work to do to see the research.

Corwin: I am moderately amazed... amazed at the vivid imaginations you guys have and the great stretches of that imagination it takes to reach your conclusions.

"Blasted walls", "alien wars", "structural retainers and frames of spaceships". I just see rocks, dude.

The reddish colour of A/2017 UI was easy enough to explain, although rarer than icier comets. Cosmic rays build an outer layer of organic molecules which are reddish, kind of what we see on the surface of Saturn's moon Titan. On icier comets this is prevented by constant out-gassing... It just means that whatever violent episode hurled it off into interstellar space also cooked away most of it's ice.

You've heard of "Occam's Razor", right? The most likely explanation is usually the correct one. And as Arthur C Clark is quoted "Fantastic claims require fantastic proof". You need a lot more than just photos of random rocks that you interpret as being some kind of internal structure of a giant spaceship. You probably see pyramids on Mars too, right?

I guess Humans are a bunch of time-wasters then... so many of us have wasted an incredible amount of time reading (and writing) Science Fiction stories.

Just keep in mind that some of our Science Fiction stories eventually become reality... ever read Jules Verne?
