The World Before the Flood. john1576: This is not about the Bible. But the Flood mentioned in Noah seems to have been a Global event that changed the world and Mankind for ever. Historians say the world before the Flood was a 'Hobo Kind of a Place' where the only Humans lived like Bums travelling around Hunter Gathering. But did they?. The legend of Atlantis has become a Romanticized Myth, but evidence is accumulating to suggest there was an advanced Global civilisation along the Lines of Greece, or the Mayans or Assyrians. Huge and extensive Ancient Structure and sites have been found that seemed to have a common form of aligning with the Sun and Star formations around 12500 years ago. We know very little about the pre Flood civilisation. North America lay under 2 Miles of solid ice at the time. When the Ice Caps melted, they flooded 10.000.000. sq Miles of land permanently. It is still underwater today, we are only now finding the Temples and cities that went down with the land. The real mystery is what caused it. If you travel to some parts of Russia, to this day you can still find mile after mile of tens of thousands of Mammoths frozen in the ice where they were left after being hit by a massive tidal wave. The only mystery about the Flood is what caused it. One theory is that The Moon drifted into Earth orbit at that time. If it did this would caused chaos with Earths climate. Another is that there was a 'Pole Shift', this is where the Earth shifts it's Axis, this would cause devastating movements of the worlds Oceans. A more imaginative idea is that a Tunguska type of collision happened in the North American ice caps. If it was big enough, this would have created a major change in weather patterns in the region, (at the time America was under 2 miles of solid ice). The water came from Glaciers that melted for some reason. The Ice over North America alone was awesome in size, millions of tons of ice. Where did the water go? From Hopi Indians to Ancient Mesopotamia to Sumeria, even the Masai, there are literally hundreds of flood legends. In this respect the bible flood legend is not at all original, and its probable that the writers of the bible had prior knowledge of such catastrophic tales. There must have been some source for these tales. Its safe to say that a catastrophe more than likely did take place but not to the extent of the fantastical exaggeration as read in the bible.
