the jews If the jews are gods chosen people then why did he let them wander around the desert for 40 years & where was his wrath when the holocaust happened??? The answer's simple: there is no god. I mean, come on you guys. Look: "God killed Mrs. Lot without even knowing (or at least telling us) her name. And what was it that got God's attention? What did she do that caused him to kill her? She looked back at the place she had lived all her life. She looked back as her family, friends, and neighbors were being smashed and burned to death by God. She looked back. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. Genesis 19.26." I mean if god killed 1 person for looking the wrong way then why didn't he kill hitler & the whole german army for killing over 6 million jews. It just doesn't make sense that there is a god. Any scatter brain would realise this. But no, these imbecilic religious nuts continue to defy reality & truth & continue to believe fairy tales written in a book. If it's written in a book it must be true right! I wonder why god, with him knowing the future of everything, chose to let hitler live after WWI so he could go on to kill 6 million of his 'chosen people'? Sounds to me like there's no god at all, just a bunch of humans saying that they're 'god's chosen people.' OK........first, let's get the words straight: God's chosen people aren't the Jews. Using the correct terminology helps avoid confusion. The word "Jew" means someone who is from Judah, the land assigned by Joshua to the tribe of Judah. So, that didn't exist during the Exodus. The followers of Moses were called the Children of Israel. After the Exodus, when they entered the Promised Land, they were known as the Israelites. Later, their religious Temple was built in the territory of Judah; consequently, their religion became known as the Jewish Faith. God made some far-reaching promises, all recorded in scriptures so we may have concrete proof they were destined to be filled. The only argument is when they have been. The promise God made to Abraham referred to a royal spiritual lineage - that is, ALL the future Prophets of God would issue from Abraham's biological descendants. God gave a different promise to the Children of Israel - this promise referred to spiritual descendants. Prior to the Exodus, humanity was tested; Moses specifically challenged the established Egyptian Faith. He filtered out the non-beleivers from the believers. Moses left Egypt with believers, who thought they were the chosen. They were but not how they'd vainly imagined it. You see, during the Exodus, Moses and His followers were, themselves, tested by the new laws and directions - this was like sifting the wheat from the chaff. The Bible says how long that took - 40 years. Moses loved them but look how fickle they were! So many didn't cut it that not a single one who'd left Egypt with Moses made it to the Promised Land. Yet Moses stayed with them to the very end. The second generation made it. They were worthy. These were the true Children of Israel, those who don't fight against God. They're the genuine lovers of God and humanity - that is their rank. Since God gives the Holy Land only to the Children of Israel, in every Age, He will test the believers. (Edited by Zanjan) God didn't kill Lot's wife. She destroyed herself. Along with Lot, she'd been a member of the Holy family, having sworn fealty to Abraham as God's Revelator on Earth. She was tested by the events at Sodom, she doubted God and turned against Lot, refusing to follow. That contempt, that bitterness had no place in this Faith; she was unworthy of her title so God struck her name out of His Book. This was just. Lot and his daughters were saddened but continued on without her. Why would you think Lot's wife deserved a good reward? By the way, consider why the men of Sodom said "we want your men". Most people read that as them being homosexuals but have you ever thought it could mean something else? Is there another viable explanation? The inhabitants of those two cities had a shortage of men, of fighting men because they were killed in battle, leaving a surplus of women. They needed replacements. Factually, many cultures bartered for boys from elsewhere so they could bring them up in their own culture as strong new warriors. Women didn't go to war. They were just chattel. The Holocaust was a test for all humanity. It didn't just take place in prison camps. Christian priests were also attacked and murdered even right in their churches. The lovers of God always suffer so humanity can learn the truth; the Jews and Christians were believers but were they also lovers? Some of them were, some weren't. We know that most of the Jews during the Holocaust were martyrs, not victims. These were compensated for all the cruelties heaped upon them. They didn't die in vain - God gave Israel back to the Jews. God had promised He would return them at the right time. That was the time. God had forgiven them. Funny how ruling Israel was the one thing they'd always wanted so when they were invited to return, many Jews didn't accept the offer. Go figure. (Edited by Zanjan) Ducati, dont ask questions if you don't want to hear the answers. On the other hand, if you don't like the answers, then by all means, make them up yourself - lots of people do that and stick to their own story. You just did. If you're satisfied with your answer, you don't need to ask the question again. It's funny how airheads like ducat think they're saying something no one has ever thought of before. | Religion Chat Room 39 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
