Apokalupto: A better than Samson is here.

Judges 13:1
And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

Judges 13:2
And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites,(Judge) whose name [was] Manoah; (Complete rest) and his wife [was] barren, and bare not.

Jesus gives us rest Hebrew 4:9-10

Jesus is judge. John 5:22

Judges 13:3
And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou [art] barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. (A miracle child, a promised son)

Judges 13:5
For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

The Nazarite vow was a vow of separation. This is not the same as one from Nazareth, Hebrew NTSR –Branch.

As the woman was visited by the angel of the LORD and informed that her son would be separated from birth,(A Nazarite) so Mary the mother of Jesus was informed by the angel of the LORD that her son would be holy from the womb. (Matthew 1:18)

Strongs definition: holy (set apart by God unto himself and apart from the world) So He too was separated being Holy from the womb of Mary.

And she called his name Samson: (Sunlight) and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him. (Judges 13:24)

Jesus is the light of the world John 1 & John 9:5

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings (Malachi 4:2)

Long story short, the Philistines, the enemy of Israel pitched in Judah and men of Judah asked why they came up “To arrest and bind Samson” they said. (Judges 15:9)

So the men of Judah went up to the rock of Etam where Samson was,(Judges 15:11) as they came also up to mount of olives to betray Jesus. (Matthew 26:47-48)

Eventually Samson was caught by the philistines because Delilah tricked Samson into breaking his nazarite vow and lost his great strength. (Judges 16)

But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house. (Judges 16:21) Christ took on the burden of sin for us (1 Peter 2:21)

Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand. (Judges 16:23)

And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport.-

Crucifixion was also looked at as a spectator sport (Matthew 27:38 to 41)

-And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars. (Judges 16:25)

This was in the temple of Dagon.

And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them. (Judges 16:26)

And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. (Judges 16:29)

Christ who was raised up and nailed on a cross both hands and feet, and took on the sin of the world, the pillars of Satan which is death and sin and conquered it, and destroyed the power of Satan and He, Jesus, is LORD OF DEAD AND THE LIVING. (Romans 14:9) (1 Corinthians 15:55-56)

Judges 16:30
And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with [all his] might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that [were] therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than [they] which he slew in his life.

John 19:30
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Matthew 27:51
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Jesus, instead of dying to destroy the temple of Dagon the god of the philistines, the enemy of Israel, He died and destroyed the power of Satan, which is death and sin, the pillars of Satan were thrown down as it were by Christ redeeming power on the cross.

The temple veil was rent in twain FROM TOP TO BOTTOM, giving us access to the holy of holies through His own blood sacrifice. Hebrew 9

Samson’s self sacrifice did not atone for anyone’s sins, but a greater than Samson is here.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21)
