Do Angels have a gender? (Page 2)

Zanjan
Zanjan: Ghost, out of curiosity, what vegetable do you identify with? Seriously, I'd just love to hear your answer. If you tell me yours, I'll tell you mine.

ghostgeek: I eat plenty of different vegetables, but I've never felt that I relate to any of them. They are just things to eat.

Zanjan: Well, think about it - your body is made from their substance so try to play along, ok?

Zanjan: As they say, you are what you eat. Like the body, the soul also needs to be fed 7 days a week to remain healthy. God says spiritual meals should be taken 3 times a day. We have very high spiritual energy needs these days as we work harder, so we need to refuel frequently.

You see, even a potato will cease to thrive if planted and re-planted in the same worn out soil. I think you understand how dangerous malnutrition can be.

Seems you need an angel in your life, Ghost.

Zanjan: Well, there's a difference between existing and flourishing. Quality of life is important at every stage of growth. Your plants may look ok on the surface but if they're not blooming, something is missing. Same for zoo animals - when kept in close confinement, they don't naturally reproduce.

Zanjan: When God said "Go forth and multiply", He wasn't saying 'get bigger and fatter or aimlessly meander hither and thither'.

Have your plants produced more of themselves, of their likeness, on their own?

chronology: Hey Zan, I was watching Sue Aitkin up in Alaska collecting soil to grow her potatoes in. Sue was saying most vegetables will not grow in Northern Alaskan ground because the soil is so poor in nutrients,

I thought Sue was using the greenhouse because of the harsh weather you Guys get at that latitude, but Sue says it is mainly for the soil in the greenhouse.

Fresh Vegetables can be really pricey she says when you live that far out of the way.

When watching the Alaskan folks catch and eat their meat and fish on TV I always exclaim to the TV 'haven't you chaps heard of tinned Corned Beef and Peas' ? Sure beats chasing fish and Moose around.

Zanjan: All growing fields everywhere on earth need to be fertilized. However, take a close look at the plants growing in the North - they're absolutely huge because they have way more light per day than anywhere else.

Same for sea food. Alaska King Crab and Halibut is humongous and highly prized. This Halibut is so huge, they have to shoot them with a rifle when they come close to the ship.

Zanjan: Firstly, Corned Beef is only English if it has a gray colour - this is the authentic kind. It's only American if it has nitrates in it, which give it the pink colour.

You may think I'm a bore for not having read Day of the Triffids but I've done Dune and Tremblors - does that work for you?

chronology: Alaskan Salmon is the only fish from Alaska I've tasted Zan, it is really tasty. Brazilian Corned Beef is also tasty. Sorry if I offend you healthy living Canadians and Alaskans but I only like food like that from a can. Some instant mashed potato from a packet and a tin of peas and am good to go. Mr and Mrs Hailstone up in Alaska would probably shake their heads in disbelief at my diet. But hey, I eat fresh veg and fruit as well.

Zanjan: I think there's about 5 different breeds of salmon in the north pacific - they all taste a bit different. King or Chinook salmon is excellent. By the way, Pacific salmon can't interbreed with Atlantic salmon - that's how different they are. I love raw and smoked salmon best.

Yes, we humans need a wide variety of foods, the fresher the better - not quite like swine or worse, tiger sharks, which eat everything, including garbage, cameras, and toasters - anythin g that falls off the boat. Unlike humans, they can purge the undigested stuff by shooting their whole stomach organ out of their mouth.

chronology: Hey Zan another curious point before getting back on topic. I was telling an engineer one time how amazed I was that propane turns to slush in gas bottles in Alaska, 'wow it must get so cold up there' I said. He corrected me by saying ;it depends on the gas they are using in Alaska. If it is propane it will turn to slush in a sharp frost in Europe, not just Alaska. Butane will remain liquid for far lower temperatures. Butane will stay liquid until around minus 24' .

Never knew the difference between Butane and Propane.
