WHAT is SIN ? (Page 6)

firstdown857: BY LOOKING AT A MAN IS A SIN :- Matthew 18:8-10 King James Version (KJV)
8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Zanjan: Sin isn't the only thing that holds one back. Countless believers think they wont have to leave anything else behind to enter the Kingdom of God.

As the scriptures say, 'Look not here or there, the kingdom is at hand". If they dont' know where they are, they should closely examine their attachments to the things of this world - those Christmas trees could well be the barrier between one's self and God.

firstdown857: Zanjan 😀 If ur a christian and sin 1 daily sin for example you had a glance to a man once a day. do you lnow how many sins you committed in 60 years . neary 63.000 sins . and the bible said :- in the New Testament:
(Matthew 19:14): "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
(I Corinthians 3:8)"Now he that planteth and he that waterth are one; and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour"
(Matthew 7:1,2)"Judge not, that ye be not Judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again"
“Each man should look to his conduct; if he has reason to boast of anything, it will be because the achievement is his and not another’s. ......... A man will REAP ONLY what he SOWS.” Galatians 6:4 - 7
"Each of us shall give an account of himself to God." Romans 14:12
"Each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor." 1Corinthians 3:8
"Also to you O Lord, belong mercy; for you render to each one according to his work." Psalms 62:12
"And will he not render to each man according to his deeds?" Proverbs 24:12
"The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself." Ezekiel 18:20
If each man reaps what he sows, how can Jesus be the savior ? How could he have taken on the sins of mankind and negated them ? Only the One who accepts repentance and wipes out sins can do that. Indeed throughout the Old Testament, God ALONE is referred to as the SAVIOR. See , 2 Samuel 22:1-3 , and Isaiah 43:3-11
In Isaiah, God Himself speaks, saying clearly that He ALONE is the SAVIOR:
“For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your SAVIOR....It is I, the Lord; there is NO SAVIOR BUT ME...” Isaiah 43:3 &11
HE repeats this categorical statement in Hosea:
“I am the Lord, your God, since the land of Egypt; You know no God besides me, and there is NO SAVIOR but me.” Hosea 13:4
There is also a related concept, the idea of a “REDEEMER”. This word has also been exclusively used for God in the Old Testament, e.g. Isaiah 44:24 and Isaiah 60:16
“You shall know that I, the Lord am your SAVIOR, your REDEEMER, the mighty one of Jacob.” Isaiah 60:16

I'm not a Christian. If Christians are sinning, apparently, Christ isn't having any effect on them. They may say the believe in Jesus but they're following someone else. They're like rust on a sword. I don't hang out in those circles. Like seeks like.

"If each man reaps what he sows, how can Jesus be the savior ?"

A righteous man plants quality seeds in fertile ground - not old seed, in soil that's full of weeds and polluted with grease. That man is wise - he doesn't need a Saviour. Christ came to heal the spiritually sick, not the healthy.

"How could he have taken on the sins of mankind and negated them ?"

Jesus didn't shoulder the sins of others - He practiced forbearance and endured the shots. He carried around the weight of the world - that is, sorrows and the pain of innocents. Such is a heart of gold - heavy. It weeps its life away.

He didn't negate sins, He forgave them....but only for those who didn't know what they were doing. He was very harsh with those whose wrongs were deliberate. Christ wielded a two-edged sword -> truth and justice.

Yes, God is the Saviour. He saves man from this world on the condition that the relationship is mutual.

David Nathaniel
David Nathaniel: Death is the last enemy. The power of death is the corruption of the flesh, which is the consequence of sin.

But, the wicked all being destroyed, there remain upon the earth only the faithful and true, who are rewarded for their fidelity with the inheritance of the ages.

The "law of sin," or law of their flesh, is abolished in the change they undergo from corruption to incorruptibility and life.

This is the abolishing of death from the earth, so that its inhabitants can die no more.

This being brought to pass, the saying will be fulfilled, and the work accomplished.

For that "the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the Devil" and "him that hath the power of death, that is the Devil."

Such is "the end, when the Son shall deliver up the Kingdom to the Father, that God may be all and in all" (1 Cor. 15:24-28; Rev. 21:3).

The separation between God and Man began with the transgression of the first Adam.

And it continues till the end of the 7,000 years, when sin and death are utterly eradicated, and harmony again established on this Earth plane.

Earth will have been delivered from moral and physical evil by His power administered and displayed through the Lord Jesus Christ.

And Jesus though "subjected to the Father," will have the pre-eminence over all " his brethren through the endless duration of ages.

The last resurrection, which is employed in the development of "the end," (Rev. 20:6) will bring up from the dust the sleeping dead of the previous thousand years.

Those who are accounted worthy of eternal life will receive it, and be added to the saints of the "first resurrection."

Thus a population will have been provided for the earth, which, instead of being destroyed, will be renovated, and all things belonging to it made new.(Rev. 21:5)

The earth and its inhabitants will be incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading.

God, according to His word, will have made "a full end of all nations," except that of Spiritual Israel.

Spiritual Israel will be the sole occupant of the Earth plane, and every Israelite, an Israelite indeed," "equal to the Elohim," and crowned with glory and honour throughout all ages.

During the thousand years their nation will consist of three classes, Christ and the saints, righteous Israelities in the flesh, and those who die "accursed".

And when perfection comes there will be but one class, and all will be immortal.

The purpose of God, in the formation of the earth, will be accomplished; and "the headstone of the creation will be brought forth with shoutings, crying grace unto it."

Zanjan: That's fairly wild interpretation of prophecies. Prophecies can't be understood except in hindsight - that's their purpose.

I'm one to desire the actual news, not hours of conjecture about what *might* news.

Zanjan: Then one should look to the story of Adam and Eve. There are several meanings involved because the story is full of symbols. One should learn the symbology.

Baha'i writings say:

Adam is the Spirit of Truth (Heavenly spirit) and Eve is His soul. (other usage of Eve in different biblical passages signifies the human soul)

The Garden of Eden represents the heavenly world, pure and uncorruptible.....the divine world is all good. The Tree of good and evil represents the human world - the human world is light and darkness, good and evil existing as opposite conditions.

The symbol of the serpent represents "attachment to the material world".

"When the soul and spirit of Adam entered the human world, He came out from the paradise of freedom and fell into the world of bondage. From the height of purity and absolute goodness, He entered into the world of good and evil."

Familiar Contrast: Christ was pre-existant but He appeared on earth. He was born into the human world and had to eat, sleep, walk around, and work like the rest of us here .

"The tree of life is the highest degree of the world of existence: the position of the Word of God, and the supreme Manifestation. Therefore, that position has been preserved; and, at the appearance of the most noble supreme Manifestation.

For the position of Adam, with regard to the appearance and manifestation of the divine perfections, was in the embryonic condition; the position of Christ was the condition of maturity and the age of reason; and the rising of the Greatest Luminary was the condition of the perfection of the essence and of the qualities."

Zanjan: .Materialism and attachment to this human world, instead of the world of God, binds us to the earth. Our spirits don't grow, they shrink and die because the soul isn't receiving spiritual nutrition. That life is death in comparison to the spiritual life.

We can change this situation by turning our faces to God and detaching from worldly things. The physical life is no longer the focus.

Each time a Revelator appears, He rejuvenates the fading Spirits; the light of His Revelation heals us of our ignorance and sets us back on the right track. Souls are forgiven and resurrected - re-born into the kingdom of God and the paradise of His Faith.

Becoming God-centered people permits us the freedom to acquire all the spiritual virtues. That is the goal - liberation from sin. So, this is a gradual development in the individual as well as the social evolution of mankind.
