There is no "There is no God. Can you prove me wrong?" thread. Can you prove me wrong?

calybonos
calybonos: I'm sure we're all familiar with the story...

The fabled story of the immaculate dissipation of threads from the religious forums.
The comforting lie told to us when we were young by those who wish to sow the seeds of doubt deep into the furrows of our gullible minds. To frighten us into conformity.

Well, I'm here to tell you that it is all a lie!
There never was a There is no God. Can you prove me wrong thread.

And if I am lying, may Administration, or one of his angels, delete me dead!

That should put an end to all this nonsense, once and for all.

It is quite odd the threads are gone. Did a very much angered god delete them? As it does appear wire mods were not at play.

Zanjan: Funny, Caly, I hadn't noticed until you burped that up.

Well, those two threads had the most pages......what, more than a thousand? Perhaps each topic has a saturation point, then code tips the bucket. Or maybe there's a new rule where only short threads are permitted to exist. One could see it as preference for short people too.

SWlNE: If there is no "There is no God. Can you prove me wrong?" thread where did all the "There is no God" threads and "Prove me wrong" threads come from? Certainly they were made in the image of the "There is no God. Can you prove me wrong?" thread. All threads have to come into existence from one thread.

quarks: Burden of Proof thread is gone also. I have no proof of this though. Worse yet I have no proof them ever existed. When I used to observe them, it seemed them threads were very real. Now no longer able to observe them it is possible I only imagined them. Possibly only in another reality did them exist.

Or are they like a famous cat. Do all threads either exist or not exist until someone goes to look upon them. This is surely true. Be kind to threads my fellow wiries, let them still hold the possibility of existance, do not spy upon them.

In breaking wire news more forum threads have vanished. According to sources close to this reporter, the events happened over night. When asked to comment on this disappearance the mods said, to their knowledge the threads still existed. They would not release an official statement but it is believed by some wire members that threads can delete themselves now.

One observer, SPROCKET, noted (in private message) "All the vanished threads pertained to the existance of God. Since mods are unsure where or why they went, it is the most reasonable conclussion that God deleted them, thus proving His existance." Her comment displaying the religious craziness one would expect from a theist. A more wise scientific mind would note the following:

No thread actually exists nor ceases to exist until an attempt is made to enter the thread. Therefore and surely the threads nonexistence was brought on by trying to access the thread. When not observing the lack of existance the thread may very well exist. Unless of course all possible locations of the threads are examined the threads very well may be safe and sound. A threads existence may not be determined by our observation of it. Though it is most likely that the threads never have existed and best case only possibly existed, when we were not observing them and thus them currently are as always when not observed and only possibly in existence. With further testing and maths it will be determined if threads have a pattern in form of a wave or of strings. This will determine if dark threads exist and why we can not observe them. To begin this we will assume all threads are in a constant motion and finally dispell the hog wash of religious nuts (aka Sprocket) claiming a diety is involved. If a grant of 900 trillion euros can be set aside for this research we guarantee a result of at least a 10% probability of "something" in a minimum of two years.

If wish donate to this research send funds to me. A paypal will be set up shortly.

And now, in other unsubstantiated reports -

Many Wireclubbers believe and teach about a future, end-times event when threads created by all true believers (a.k.a. Gold Members) will be taken from the site by God into heaven. The term describing this event is "the Rapture."

Although the term "rapture" is not found in the Wireclub terms of service, the theory is based on reliable hearsay from the Bingo chatroom. Those who accept the Rapture theory believe that all non-believers logged in at the time will be left behind for the tribulation period. A dark and tremulous period in which the Wireworld will experience glitches and rampant troll infestations as the antichrist prepares to take his place as the Beast half way through the seven year period.

(for more information, see the Wireclub T.O.S. chapter 666 Disclaimers,Revelation, and You.)

Most chatsite scholars agree the tribulation period will last for seven years, the final seven years of this age, until Mark Zuckerberg returns to set up his earthly kingdom during the Millennium.

Zanjan: I'm thinking there's a textual error in that report - my belief is that it's not the Rapture, it's the Rupture.

Which also includes some notorious editing skills.

Geoff: The people who run this website wanted to close the religion forum down.

It causes more trouble than all the others. In fact the forums are more trouble than they are worth.

I did worry about that. But now... I have gotten to the point where I just don't care any more.

I enjoy the forums and quite honestly rarely use the chat... However, I can see why they feel that way. Quite honestly there should be nothing to moderate. It really does not in the end matter what someone writes to you or about you here. People have offended me but I would never report someone. It just at the end of the day is thoughts and whatever, no harm done.

Even trolls don't much bother me. I mostly only read the forums and just comment on pccasion anymore. Not so much because I feel people do not listen but more so because I rarely have the time to engage anymore.

If someone posts something offensive just ignore it. Give the mods nothing to do in the forums by not taking anything personal and they will not care what we post.

Geoff: No

I am not the saviour.

I am not convinced I am not the hangman of Wireclub.
But I was invited to apply to be a mod. And I said no. I am not cut of the right cloth.

I didn't save the religion forum. I am happy to see the whole lot swept away. I'd appreciate the Forum Games surviving. That's at leave without much controversy.

The rest of you are so fucking lost that I doubt a compass would help.
