The true face of Hamas (Page 4)

ghostgeek: The scale and nature of the latest Israeli assault on Gaza, destroying every piece of basic infrastructure available and predictably inflicting civilian deaths on a grand scale, has resulted not from extreme belligerence towards Palestinians but from a settled strategy Israeli leaders hope will soon be adopted by western powers in prosecution of the “war on terror”. The devastation is coldly deliberate.

The assault is an expression of the Dahiya doctrine. The title refers to the Dahiya neighbourhood of Beirut, devastated in August 2006 in retaliation for the failure of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) to defeat Hizbullah in clashes in southern Lebanon, during which large numbers of civilians were either directly killed by bombs or crushed as they huddled in the rubble of their homes.

In October 2006 the head of Israel’s northern command, Maj Gen Udi Adam, resigned, taking responsibility for the failure. He was replaced by Gadi Eizenkot, previously military secretary to the office of the prime minister, subsequently deputy chief of the general staff.

What was needed was more ruthlessness, Eizenkot declared. Time to take the gloves off. “What happened in the Dahiya district will happen in every village from which Israel is fired on . . . We will apply disproportionate force and cause great damage and destruction. From our standpoint, these are not civilian villages, they are military bases.”

The author of the IDF’s code of conduct, professor of practical ethics at Tel Aviv University, Asa Kasher, sub sequently incorporated the Dahiya doctrine into his rules of battle.

chay chayi: Gerald knows nothing what Israel did, before any strike "back" Israel sent text messages and threw down notes to "all" civilians to leave the area, "24" hours before, and even when they were about to bomb a house of terrorist that contained bombs, they warned about a minute before, (after the 24 hour messages) that they are about to bomb this house, what no military forces ever did, the only terrorist are Hamas, the Israeli forces are the best and the most merciful army even to their enemies, while Hamas and Syria kill their own people, the Israel army saved injured Gazzan and Syrian civilians

chay chayi: This video was the second warning, after they threw notes and sent text messages, then right before they planned to bomb this house of terrorist like about a minute hovering over the house, they warned the house by hitting with a bomb on the roof of the house that was not explosable, it banged the roof for the second chance to escape, giving even for the terrorist a chance to escape, what no military in the world would do

GeraldtheGnome: Israel is a Country, not a Person or that of numerous People, so despite the conspiracy theories Theories on here and the continuous one-Eyed viewpoints from both of you, Israel didn't do anything. Some People from Israel did and some People from the Palestinian Areas did, it's that simple. I haven't looked at the Video yet so I'm not going to state if it was a violence happy Person that attacked it or not. I'll admit that at all times Hamas just 'do things' without warning. I know that there are some Arseholes from Israel proper too of course.

ghostgeek: That video is one of the few that made me jump. If somebody was in the house I'm sure they'd get the message to get out and run.

As for Israel not being a person, I think both Chayiii and I understand that Gerald. We are just using customary usage. It is quite normal to anthropomorphize the concept of a nation, to reify, to personify, it. So we get the British bulldog and the Australian boxing kangaroo and Uncle Sam and all the other comforting images. Now, I can't speak for anyone else, but I find it a convenient approach at times and I'm damn sure going to continue doing it.

GeraldtheGnome: The customary use of things is more often than not incorrect, as it is on here. There's no such thing as average, but there is such a thing as normal, but there is such a thing as average or standard, that doesn't mean that what is standard or average is always right though. Chazza might have a point, I don't know what his odds bit means though, I watched through various numerous Media outlets that were reasonably balanced as well as siding too much one way or the other, anyway certain things that were focussed on were Schools and Mosques in Gaza. Now from the mainstream view to my country and to others in countries like mine you from the footage would think that that was wrong and that it was deliberately targeted by some evil People of the Israeli Military. A week later I saw a follow up about these stories and it should what fully happened there including the footage of Weapons stashed in these 'Civilian' places, my whole outlook about these events were turned around when the full story about each event was shown.

I hate the word anthropomorphize, once again it does not impress anyone to use rarely used words from a Dictionary or from some Buzz Term, it's pretentious. Reify ? We are not literally speaking on here, never do what is convenient, do what is right instead, whatever it is. No one is against different points of view, what I am against is unfair, biased, one-eyed points of view. If anyone, including any Mod and/or Rod wants to tell me the BS that everyone is and/or has the right to express themselves then that is fine for most to do that, but not for all. Hitler 'merely expressed' himself, so too do Lenin, Stalin, also any alive and dead Dictator or anyone else that is unfair. I'm only for those that are fair to express themselves, anyone else should have me and everyone else go against them. I expect different points of views and I encourage it, as long it is done in the correct way. This Forum however is a place of free expression as long as it is fair then it should welcomed, if not then it shouldn't be on here at all, but at no time is it literally a Forum of free speech unless there is an Audio device used, such as a Video with someone or some People speaking in it. It is impossible to know if anyone is denying God or not since there still is no evidence that God does exist. To be against the existence of God does not make anyone evil, what makes someone evil is by what they do apart from that instead.

ghostgeek: The video showing the Israeli airforce "knocking on the roof" in Gaza impressed on me how accurate modern weapons can be. The Israelis can target individual houses and be sure of hitting them. So, if they let people know beforehand where they intend to strike, this means they are not intent on killing the people inhabiting the dwellings, but on the properties themselves. This must be an instance of the Dahiya doctrine in operation. The aim must be to cause a rift between ordinary Garzans, who have their houses demolished, and Hamas. Giving advance warning of an attack is most definitely not the way to kill Hamas members, or anyone else.

ghostgeek: It would seem that Gazans feel trapped, six months after the latest Israel-Hamas war. With reconstruction moving slowly and borders mostly closed, hopelessness is spreading among those living in the ruins. For years, Gazans have been unable to decide for themselves whether they can leave the small coastal enclave, even if just for travel. Since the end of the war, the border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt has been closed most of the time. In 2015, the crossing has been open for a total of three days.

The Rafah border crossing is the only route out for most Gazans. Right now, about 10,000 people have put their names on the waiting list, says Maher Abu Sabha, director of the Rafah crossing on the Gaza side. Normally, his office would be busy with hundreds of people seeking a precious spot on the list. But these days things are quiet. The office is shut. "We do not let people register right now," Abu Sabha says, "because we don't know when the crossing will open next time."

GeraldtheGnome: Topple the Creeps that are within Gaza, don't take Potshots at those in Israel Proper and not even one of them be just like the Creeps they toppled or worse after that then most of the problems are sorted. I'm not denying that the bulk of them are trapped.

chay chayi: Gerald is so stupid, when i said that that bomb knocking on the roof was not a bomb of explosion, it meant that it did not explode the house, it was only an explosion of a bang in the house, didn't show the thing ?? it does

Now Ghost stupid too, they warned before because, there was family in the house too, so the only option was to worn them before, AND they basically meant to destroy the houses of the terrorist

GeraldtheGnome: The majority of People in Gaza are not, in fact the Dictatorship of Hamas rules over a majority there that want nothing to do with the ways of Hamas. All Missiles explode, if you don't believe so then take that up with the manufacturer of any intact or used Missile anywhere in the World that. The plural of the word Terrorist is Terrorists and to believe all that you do shows just out of touch you really are with reality. You're only answer to anyone that disagrees with you even when you are wrong about anything or everything is that they are evil and/or stupid, you also think that you are right even when your as far away as being right as anyone can be.
