Who Believes in the Devil? (Page 30)

Zanjan
Zanjan: ""Bow down before me," thunders God, "or be forever damned."

Oh common, what has every Slave-Owner/Boss done to an employee/slave who refused to do as asked? Or worse, flipped them the bird? Now I ask you, who is PAID to obey God? (no need to answer that, just think about it).

Are you sure the devil thinks God is a tyrant? After all, didn't God give the devil freedom to do as he pleased? Yeah, I think you'll find that in scripture. Your question should be why atheists don't believe in the devil, not even those with all the skull memorabilia.

chronology: Zan, the Bible is pretty clear about the reason;s for Satan's fall. 'The multitude of they commerce has brought forth confusion from within thee' in plain English, Lucifer, Son of the Morning went completely crazy. He was like a Wall Street Corporation that began taking over everything in sight, then everything, everywhere, no longer acting like any normal Business.

God was no tyrant, He simply stopped the Devil in his manic take over of all creation.

chronology: The problem with any discussion about 'Satan' Stephen is that people who believe there is such a being are thought insane. People usually say 'well is there any proof that such a person has ever lived' ? you have to answer 'no' . Even Anton Le Vey who wrote the Satanic Bible and founded the Church of Satan never believed in such a being.
He was asked one time if he was ever scared that the Devil would show up at his Rituals. He replied 'if there was any such thing as the Devil I would be' .
The last and most realiable record we ever had on Satan was when Jesus encounted him in the desert when He was fasting and praying, unless you believe all the wild stories of Black Masses and Sabbats. But even Jesus has His encounter dismissed as the result of starvation, thirst and sleeping rough for over a month.

Zanjan: Stephen, I hope you were being facetious - 'Blacks who seek the facts"? Maybe they should look under their skin. We're all the same species.

By the way...this is where interpretation of the symbol on the Egyptian tomb wall comes from - too much Georgio and Van Daneikin. It's not the solar system - they didn't have telescopes.

It makes more sense to see it from a religious point of view because they were religious people and the Pharaohs, as the head of their religion, were God's representatives on earth. Similar to popes, and holding same belief in resurrection.

The Christians who hold fears of the devil have no trust in the protection of God. They're weak.

Zanjan: Chron: " He was like a Wall Street Corporation that began taking over everything in sight,"

Um, didn't Solomon do the same thing? The Old World Order is all about empire-building, and that's just the way it worked.

Not so in the New World Order.........it's all corporations that drive every technical advancement, every government financial and environmental policy. Nation building is over - what's occurring is protection of investments in a very materialistic world. It's a slow move away from singular ruthlessness, acknowledging the reality of an interdependent global society

Zanjan: Oh, I think the message is pretty clear that if you invade another country with intent to scoop it up, you'll be very sorry you did. Big Daddy is all around you...two hundred plus countries against one. We have International laws now, eh.

What you see among national leaders today is a few old boys merely posturing like animals, walking circles around each other, making bluff starts. Megalomaniacs like to get air time, flexing their shriveled muscles but dare not make a direct punch. Ridiculously silly, costly only to themselves.

The physical war belongs to gorilla battle, quickly fading as the ape-brained fighters disappear by their own hand, which is kind of amusing. It's becoming increasingly clear that there's no profit in physical war except to the ordinance and combat vehicle makers and suppliers. Their factories will be struggling shortly and downsizing, as the way of war shifts onto different platforms.

You know those lone wolf attacks. Well, all the CIA needs to do hack into the DIY websites for bomb-making and adjust the measurements slightly........the pitter patter of little devil feet is for sheer entertainment.

Zanjan: Russia once ruled the Crimea and the Ukraine - as if that gives them the right to rule either again. Just like they lost last time, they'll lose again. Not to worry. It's jousting.

Russia will have to be constantly looking over its shoulder, to the point of paranoia. You can't keep people close to you who don't like you, even want you dead. Half of the people in the Ukraine are Russian - doesn't imply they like Russia. That's like saying Quebeckers will fight for France instead of Canada.

Neither Afghanistan or N Korea have sought to expand their borders. Only Japan should be worried - N. Korea is seriously polluting the waters where people get their food.

ghostgeek: That time of year when we all pig out is nearly upon us. This makes me wonder if gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins. Let us hope not, otherwise all this Christmas grub scoffing that we'll have to endure in the name of Jesus might make those with at least two functioning brain cells wonder if it's really the Devil that's being celebrated at Christmas.

Zanjan: No, it's commercialism that's being celebrated. Normally, there's a conspiracy to withhold all the cool stuff, like salted caramels and talking flashlights, until this time of year. The stores are laughing all the way to the bank while drunks and trees are dying needlessly.

My inner piggy is fasting out of grief.

Zanjan: Hubby, a closet Lutheran, tells me he doesn't care about Christmas anymore but he still loves to put up the flashing, coloured lights on the house every year, with lit and blinking birds on the porch.

I have to say this is very functional, living out here on the prairies - they provide guidance and cheer and are beacons of hope to drivers on the highway, and those who've run off it, in the dark, zero-visability of cold, snowy nights. We should always have lights.

Problem is, you can't exonerate yourself that easily - once you know something is a sin against God, you're aware; if you still do it, you're basically screwed.
