Who Believes in the Devil? (Page 123)

Zanjan
Zanjan: We've had one for some time - it's called a Zoo. In remote areas, it's a Nature Reserve.
These protect animals from the people. To protect people from people, we throw them in prison, but everyone knows the slammer is dangerous.

There needs to be a refuge for the innocent, the downtrodden, the poor, the sick, and the oppressed. There must be a sanctuary where these can weather the storm until balance is restored.

For them, the Ark must be the Covenant of God, and the refuge must be genuine Faith and trust in Him. Generations brought up in THIS haven are blessed with insight, vision, and wisdom. They're the builders of a peaceful new civilization.

bonzono: can we have a refuge for the religious nutjobs too?
somewhere they can roam freely, and rant at the sky/god, without interfering with the rest of humanity?

Herd island is free, and I hear it's a great place for the religious nuts to go. We can divvy it up into areas for the many thousands of various sects, and you can all have your little patch of the earth to rant on, and not bother the rest of humanity.

You up for that, zan?

ghostgeek: I see the Russian navy has turned up in Cuba. Clearly doing their bit for a peaceful new civilisation. Missiles locked on to ranting American senators and every man jack ready to desert to whoever will take them. Yes, insight, vision and wisdom will soon be flowering in the New World if given the chance.

Good..... we can just sit back and wait. A mega hurricane will be along soon

bonzono: it's not humour you lack, zan, it's intellectual honesty.

ghost's point is obvious - god doesn't need a 'hurricane' or a 'cloud of ash' to sink a boat. Heck he doens't even need to sink them - he can just poof them out of existence.

why god has to hide behind perfectly understandable natural phenomena is something theists are yet to explain to me...

why god behaves exactly as if he doesn't exist... is also something theists are yet to explain to me.

ghostgeek: God does seem a little wimpy when comes to doing anything strenuous. Maybe He's recovering from creating the universe, or maybe He needs to have His toenails cut. Thereagain, perhaps it is a fact that He doesn't exist and nobody's noticed.

bonzono: it could be the case that god is not all powerful at all, he's like a child playing a computer game. He sets up a situation, and natural forces unfold and demolish his little village..

then again, that would beg the question - who wrote the computer game?

Zanjan: Ghost, what makes you think God has finished creating the universe? If you're going by Genesis, Moses doesn't say that. He talks about OUR world - about earth and heaven. He says nothing about other planets. Why would He?

The ancients were pretty good at reading the night sky to navigate and judge the seasons but Moses doesn't mention the solar system or anything outside of it.

The passage states God created the "lights" - the sun and the moon to divide day from night. It doesn't mention the universe - that's not heaven. The Galaxy isnt heaven either.

Later on in the Old Testament, constellations are mentioned as a comparison of power: (Job 38:31–33)

"Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades, or loose the belt of Orion? Can you bring out Mazzaroth in its season? Or can you guide the Great Bear with its cubs? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you set their dominion over the earth?”

the fact that time is still unfolding means the universe is not 'finished'.

Zanjan: Perhaps because He loves diversity. Why does each family have a black sheep and skeletons in the closet? There's something in nature called the 'Average Mean - there needs to be a whole lot of specimens to achieve a balance, plus a few extremes at each end of the scale to temper a proliferation of unhealthy trends.

All things work to the good.

Zanjan: Oh common......international war has faded into the past. While it's true men still love to blow things up, unusual events aren't part of a New World Order.

For example, NATO is a feature of the NWO - it's an alliance of 80 countries, agreed and united to PREVENT war, not fight in a war. NATO Membership is a highly esteemed honor, representing the most civilized countries on earth.

Civil war is commonplace because society is passing through a grievance-driven, post-apocalyptic period. People are confused, misguided, and broken. For example, Iran is on the brink of civil war - no surprise there, that the regime couldn't run a laundromat properly.

I'm referring to the increase in protest groups all over the world - the discontent, civil disobedience, and internal strife are the real problems. That has to stop because it leads to hatred and, ultimately, civil war. The way to kill a country is to make it implode.

Zanjan: NATO has an official membership list plus the eligible list, plus the application list, plus the friends list. Collectively, supporters can sign/voice agreements. Ergo, if one aligns with an organization, they approve all decisions made by that organization. That counts.

There's only so many countries in the northern Hemisphere. Do we need a southern branch?

Zanjan: The Ukrainian-Russian war is weird because traditional war involves invasions by both sides. That's not what's happening. The Ukraine isnt invading Russia, it's defending its own sovereignty.

The world stage supports the Ukraine, which has been on NATO's collaborators list for years. This is the category where a country proves itself to be eligible for membership. Part of the requirement is to contribute with all its resources - the Ukraine, being under fire, is low on resources.
