Its becoming ever more difficult to 'come out' as an atheist due to religious prejudice.

How many politicians do you know that are openly atheist?

Coming out as an atheist in many countries often means death.

CoIin: why does meaning always have to be conferred from without? Why does there even have to be a "meaning"? Sounds kinda gloomy I know, but also kinda self-evident, at least to me.

CoIin: Honestly speaking, atheism has always seemed like the common sense "default" position to me, at least in this day and age. It's a belief in undemonstrable, metaphysical entities that is hard for me to comprehend. Put peace and love to you believers too!

I dont know about you,but i was created by my parents..

People for centuries after the so called holy books were invented,believed god made people,they couldnt put 2 and 2 together (mother and father creating life) and people follow their teachings to this day,who'd figure *shrugs*

I dont believe that it took millions of years of evolution to create man! It makes more sense to believe that God created man in a day with dust and magic! Herp! Derp!

GETERDONE! earlicker: Anybody who has the enlightenment of being a deep thinker in somewhat of a scientific method would have a hard time believing in an "All Powerful" diety. The scientific evidence just isn't there like the evidence that exists to support evolution.

The black havik: God has yet to provide us with any evidence of his existence outside of a book that I'm positive no one anywhere has ever given enough f~*#^ about to actually read the entire thing.

There is thousands upon thousands of evidence that supports the existence of Bruce Campbell, Adam West, Seth Macfarlane, Bill Murray, Captain Planet and my cousin Dave.

GETERDONE! earlicker: The difference between a scientific fact and a scientific theory is that the fact can be proven using mathematical equations to prove something will happen in a given set of circumstances, where as the theory has supporting evidence to support how things have come to be. It is impossibl to prove a scientific theory with a mathematical equation. Scientific theories, in the scientific world, are by the most part, accepted as being fact. The Theory of Evolution is widely accepted as fact in the scientific community.

Yeah its very hard to believe in evolution when confronted with the observable, proven evidence, hundreds of years of peer reviewed scientific journals, biological and DNA evidence, reputable scientific opinion, geological evidence etc etc

The black havik: There are still a large amount of people out there who do not believe in evolution whereas if you were to go out into the street and began asking i doubt anyone at all would disagree that Bruce Campbell exists.
