Animal Lover: I don't think it's right that Roman Catholics can just go to Confession and then have a clear conscience about whatever they might have done wrong.
I also completely disapprove of that religions' subjugation of women but that is true of most official religions. I dunno why women put up with it these days when we are more than 50% of the World's population!

Why is everybody that is not a muslims, a pagan? Do they become easier to slaughter when they fall under this label, as Mohammad demonstrated at Mecca? Muslims now worship the kaaba, which was worshipped by these same pagans.

Pagans is typically used to refer to polytheistic religious traditions. Buddhists worship no god or gods.

Stormy: Most religions include elements from pagan/former faiths. This was done partly to satisfy converts and partly to absorb rival movements that could have become dangerous competitors.

A typical example is Islam regarding the Kaba shrine and the practice of Ramadan as a holy month. Both were ancient long before Mohammed, but so rooted in the people's religious practice that he would have faced serious opposition if he had tried to abolish them. So he "islamised" them instead.

They certainly worship God not the Kaaba.
they use the Kaaba as a direction only.
