Magicspell: OK then...

No 1 was sarcastically meant.
No 2 was matter of factly.
No 3 was supposed to be informative.

Happy now, mate?

StuckInTheSixties: Magicspell, thanks for clearing that up.

flashie, I have no idea what your reply about "quantum mechanics" means. Obviously, it refers to my smart-ass reply to Michelle earlier in the thread, but how does that relate to my assessment that your suggestion of "studying and cross referencing" all of the available religious texts would be "in all likelihood, it's a waste of my time and effort?"

Obviously you're refering to two comments I made, and which were made in response to two different things, and obviously you're relating the two. Can you explain how and why you're drawing that relationship? (shrugs)

LiptonCambell: I get what flashie said- and I think it was good!

Basically, he's saying that quantum mechanics don't got a real practical use.....and comparing it to your comments on wasting time knowing useless info lol

StuckInTheSixties: I see a difference.

From what I can tell, the study of Quantum Mechanics has a point that I can appreciate. The point is that it helps to explain how things work in the real world.

From what I can tell, the study of religious texts has a point that I can't really appreciate. The point is that they don't help to explain how things work in the real world.

I'm quite sure that if I spent time vigorously studying and comparing religious texts in detail, what I would come away with is the same thing I have now. What I would get is a deeper knowledge of the details of various dogma (dogmas?) that I reject anyway. My assessment here and now is that it would be a waste of my time and effort.

bibleagreement: Do Jesus words guide us to find Truth? Read Jesus words, see what you think?

Jesus talks about love. John 13:35
"If you continue in my word" John 8:31-32

Jesus said this last thing to the Apostles and then ascended to heaven.
Matthew 28:19-20

One thing Jesus says that I always keep in mind and remember is this:
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. --Matthew 6:33
