I think it's because too many weak people have hi-jacked Christianity and turned it into their own, man-made versions.

There's only ONE God, only ONE Faith of God. God doesn't need religion - humans do; you see, God doesn't need training. If you couldn't know anything about God, the Holy Books would be pointless and training would fail, like pop psych.
