Hooray for the Pope! satangel: Despite Pope Benedict XVI 's attempts to stress the belief that there is no incompatibility between faith and reason, he still calls atheism "absurd", saying: "...it has led to some of the greatest forms of cruelty and violations ever known to mankind…" and he continues: "...a world marked by so much injustice, innocent suffering and cynicism of power cannot be the work of God!" During his African tour earlier this year he committed a particularly great number of blunders. Without saying it directly, what people were led to understand was: "To hell with prevention, because how can we boost our image and sense of self-worth if we don't have sick people to take care of? It is better for our image to let people get sick and die; thereby giving us the opportunity to show how compassionate we are by caring for them as they suffer!" With a constant flow of similar outbursts, the Pope is responsible for publicly hanging himself. And he does it so often, so well... I feel like I should send him a "thank you" note. By now, he should know that as long as he continues to spew uninformed, banal babble, there will be a backlash suffered. He is turning out to be one of the greatest allies anti-religionists have ever had! It seems that we no longer need any media campaign that sets out to expose how unrealistic and antiquated the opinions of the Pope and the Vatican are, because Benedict is single-handedly ripping Catholicism apart. Three cheers for the pope... pope, pope, hooray... Geoff: Makes you think that maybe they shouldn't have accepted the dogma of 'Papal Infallibility', huh? satangel: On 18 July 1870, 535 of the 1,084 Catholic bishops voted that the Pope was to be infallible. This amounted to a "majority" of 49%, because the rest boycotted the meeting, or left it in protest before the voting. Despite this, Pius IX triumphantly declared that "the Pope's faith and morals are infallible"! Subsequently, this principle was incorporated in the Catholic Church's statutes. But the infallibility doctrine was seen by many as "an abuse of power from the Vatican". source: The former head of the theological faculties at the University of the German town of Tübingen, Dr Hans Küng, is known as "one of the cleverest, most influential and accurate Catholic authors of our time". He took up the legacy of Pope John XXIII and wanted a new, more flexible and modern course for the Church. In the controversial book "Infallible?" - Which came in 1970 - he challenges the Pope's infallibility, a phenomenon that had not existed before 1870, when what Satangel just posted was adopted after a questionable ballot. Hundred years after the famous statement Küng, however, said that the time had now come to argue that "no one except God is infallible," and he could instead document the Church's tendency to present its theology as "history". He also criticized Cardinal Jean Danielous' book "The Dead Sea Scrolls and Primitive Christianity" from 1957 as "a piece of theological propaganda". Küng's free-speech naturally made him an irresistible object of the tribunals at the Vatican's Assembly of Faith Doctrines. In 1979, the Pope fired him from his position and declared that he was "too incompetent to teach Roman Catholic doctrine." He was informed that he was no longer a Catholic theologian and he was also denied the right to write and publish books. Afterwards, Hans Küng said it this way: "I was ostracized by a church leader who rejected my theology without having read my books and who also refused to meet me. The truth is that Rome does not want dialogue, but submission!" satangel: Source, you know your stuff as usual… Here is one more eye-opener: The German author and theologian Bernard Häring has stated that the interrogations that he was subjected to by the Nazis were not as cruel as the ones he had to face by the Assembly of Faith Doctrines after having published the book "Freedom and Faith in Christ" in 1978. Spirit One: I wouldn't put much stock in anything the POOP has to say [KING OF THE CHILD MOLESTERS] LMFAO LastDragon: More than 50 Italian women have now admitted having a $exual relationship with Cahtolic priests. This is probably only the tip of the iceberg. They now urge the pope to ban the celebacy restriction, so that his priests may have a normal love life instad of directing their desires towards "unobtainable" women and what is worse: Poor, innocent minors. Yahweh: Creator of the Universe 'Yahweh' , sent many prophets before the people to spread His New Kingdom Message [all were married - man and woman were meant to be together -it is part of the Master Plan . Thanks Satan's Angel ,always right on with your topic ,it says 'GOD HIMSELF IN THE FLESH ' on the popes Mitre cap ,awful feeble 'god'[elohim] if he dies and has to be replaced every few yrs ,why did the Vatican name their new TELESCOPE ,'Lucifer'? , is it maybe because the Pope knows his Creator is watching everthing his Satanic A$$ is doing in the name of Satan [God of 'THIS' world -see 2nd Corinthians 4:4] and he knows Yahweh is going to lay the SMACK down on his candy A$$ ? I think the POPE and all his minions of Lucifer are all worried about what they are about to Reap . my favorite quote out of the 'CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA' ' In 1510 A.D. , Pope Leo the 10th raised his silver Chalise in front of Cardinal Jovius and Cardinal Bembo and proclaimed ,'" Ah! ,this Jesus fable ,what a moneymaker it has been for us and our predecessors ,it has served us well." Gotta love the Popes for keeping such wonderful records of their misdeeds ,HEY ! if you read in their ,you will also find where one Pope even stated that the birthday of the 'Christ' was borrowed from Pagan Antiquity. Geoff: Yes, the pope is a con artist. It's amazing how many religions are founded or promulgated by such people. office: The Pope has a more critical audience now than 500 years ago. He cannot get away with his fables and myths any more, because his doctrines have been unmasked by science. Do you seriously think that he would have admitted in 1992 that Galileo was righ if he could have got away with denying it for another century? His foundaton is crumbling both from without and within, as it turns out that it's built on sand. satangel: The Pope has outplayed his role. He is more like a formal figurehead now, without much real power. And because of his inability to conform to the times, he increasingly becomes the laughing stock of the media and less and less people takes him seriously. hewhay: I'm praying for GLOBAL end of the monopoly money system in play ,then the Vatican will lose their teeth chronology: Anything the man who Catholics call 'The Holy Father' does is going to be critisised. For centuries the Papacy held back the tidal wave of heathenism, keeping itself apart from other religions. The last Pope John Paul2 then called over the leaders of Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, Voodoo, Muslim religions for a 'Talk and understand each other' Jam session at the Vatican, (to the absolute consternation of Vatican Old timers who thought he had lost his Marbles). The Vatican rejoiced at the end of communism, seeing a more open world. Today the Vatican looks out on a world swarming with heathen Cults and Religions exploiting their new found freedom in what was once a controlled communist world. perhaps the rejoicing was premature. taxilon: "And because of his inability to conform to the times, he increasingly becomes the laughing stock of the media and less and less people takes him seriously". They thought the same things about Jesus at that time ... so the Pope is in the right path, I guess .. taxilon: ... and I thought that english schools and teachers were better than ours .. another myth is collapsing hewhay: BITE YOUR TONGUE ON THAT 'HOLY FATHER' REMARK ain't nothing holy about the Pope and he isn't MY father ,it says in scripture '" Call no MAN father ,but your Heavenly Father Yahweh." satangel: The Vatican has recently classified that the "attempted ordination" of women is one of the most serious crimes a Catholic priest can commit, putting it on a par with paedophilia, heresy and desecrating the Sacrament. satangel: It shows the true nature of the Vatican: A stubborn remnant of the patriarchal society that never has tolerated that women can have equal rights. By telling that female clergy is just as bad an abomination as paedophiles, the Pope reveals that Christianity's brotherhood/sisterhood is nothing but a joke and that he compares women's rights to a heinous crime against innocent children. satangel: God is not important in this context. I want to unmask the Pope for what he really is: An incompetent old fart promoting medieval ideas by disguising his hatred for women's rights as religious doctrines. The problem is that nowadays, most people laugh at him and his ridiculous statements, while only a few brainwashed individuals still respect him and his hopelessly outdated ideas. | Religion Chat Room 28 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
