World's oldest religion? (Page 2)

Raven
Raven: Like everyone grew out of Catholicism. Besides people of Hispanic origin, does anyone actually follow it anymore? It's loaded with hypocrites, and that's one of the reasons why I left.

Raven: No, that's not what I said at all
It was just an example
I just used the Catholic religion as an example cos it's what I grew up with, and what I noticed firsthand.

Raven: Baba Yaga...
I could be mistaken, but I think that's a story character.

Islam can be vs Pagan all they want, but pagans are not against them. That is a one-sided battle, my friend.

Goran: All of Pagan spirits existed only in stories. There are no Pagan Bibles, no Qurans, no writen records for the most part.

"All writings whatever which Porphyry or anyone else has written against the Christian religion, in the possession of whomsoever they shall be found, shall be committed to the fire." -- Emperor Theodosius I.

Some have remained in culture by transitioning to fairy tales, comics, or new religions. Christianity and Islam worked very diligently to root out any competition. Number of Christian Crusades were against European tribes who held to their Pagan beliefs and rejected Christianity.

"It is decreed that in all places and all cities the [pagan] temples should be closed at once, and after a general warning, the opportunity of sinning be taken from the wicked. We decree also that we shall cease from making sacrifices. And if anyone has committed such a crime, let him be stricken with the avenging sword. And we decree that the property of the one executed shall be claimed by the city, and that rulers of the provinces be punished in the same way, if they neglect to punish such crimes."-- Codex Theodosianus, XVI.10.4.

I dig the neo-Pagan's connection to the natural world. I fulfill my own spirituality with the same. Difference is I don't go as far as believing in supernatural deities, spirits, signs, mysticism, and such.

Spirit One: Please notice that "man" needs no intercessor between himself and YHWH (Yahweh). No church, no priest, no patriarch, no government. Each man is to have a personal living relationship with his Father. As long as a man remains under the "covering" of no-one but YHWH (Yahweh), he is granted authority. Remaining under the covering of YHWH (Yahweh), simply means walking in obedience to Him and His Word, by faithfulness.

We see this principle illustrated in the life of our father Adam. YHWH (Yahweh) commanded him to "dress and keep the garden", or in other words, to take dominion over creation; to protect and serve it. He was given responsibility; therefore he was also given authority to administer the revealed Word of YHWH (Yahweh). As long as he remained obedient to YHWH (Yahweh) (under his covering), Adam’s authority was absolute and unlimited, because it was not his authority, but rather by being under YHWH (Yahweh)’s covering through obedience, YHWH (Yahweh)’s Word was Adam’s Word. Obedience could be said to grant one a sort of "Power of Attorney". Adam’s "sovereignty" was conditional to his obedience, his faithfulness to the High Sovereign, YHWH (Yahweh).

When Adam rebelled, or disobeyed, he lost authority. We can see this today. If we abide by natural laws we can do, or are given authority over, incredible things. If we should attempt to ignore those laws, our undertaking would most likely be a failure, or turn out quite different than we anticipated. In reality when we "violate" a natural law we don’t escape it, but rather activate another law of which we may or may not be aware. After Adam’s "fall" the remaining authority he possessed was limited to the areas in which he remained faithful to the divine edict.

Obedience, personal accountability, is the basis of self-government. YHWH (Yahweh)’s authority is the only real authority there is. He is the only one worth obeying. Submitting ourselves to "ordinances after the traditions of men" (e.g. covering our heads) will only lead to personal bondage and suffering. Self-government is only fully possible through observing the Life of Messiah, and by the illumination of the Spirit of YHWH (Yahweh). No amount of physical might could accomplish it, but when one of YHWH (Yahweh)’s children is empowered by the Life of Messiah they will express the "Kingdom (council) of heaven" on Earth.

The first thing Yahshua taught us was, "Repent for the Kingdom (council) of Heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17). When the Assembly - Ekklesia began to grow after Yahshua was resurrected, the first step, according to Peter, was, "Repent, and be baptized..." (Acts 2:38). Repentance, or personal accountability to the Word of YHWH (Yahweh), is the first step to fulfilling the Kingdom (council) of YHWH (Yahweh) within each of us. Without this foundational principle, the Kingdom (council) of YHWH (Yahweh) does not exist on any other level.

Personal Sovereignty, or each individual taking responsibility for their personal instruction, sustenance, and protection on all levels of both the internal and external worlds, is the Kingdom! As we grow into Sovereigns, we mature into "Sonship". When we become "Kings" over our own mind, and our actions, a result shown in our daily lives, we learn Sovereignty. When we exercise self-government according to the Word of YHWH (Yahweh), we enter into and experience the Kingdom (council- and Government) of YHWH (Yahweh). If we reject His Word, if we refuse to be governed by the principles of the Divine Edict, we refuse citizenship in the Kingdom (council) of YHWH (Yahweh).

chronology
chronology: It all depends on how you see History. If you believe in the Garden of Eden, then all Religion develloped out of Iraqi Politics back in the distant past of what we today call Iraq. Originally, it is now thought Iraqis of bygone days believed in one God. But this belief became corrupted and distorted as rival Kings in Iraq fought over who had the Right to rule the early Kingdoms there. The Kings established their own Cults and Gods to give themselves the seal of approval for their rule. This eventually led to a 'stew pot' of religions and Cults in Iraq all fighting for power.

In the wilderness outside Iraq people spread all over the world. The Nephilim had also been been tampering with human genetics and there were by around 30.000 years ago all kinds of races, most of which are still around today. These Races all had an inclination to their own kind of religion. Asian people were attracted to Dragon Cults, Latin Americans loved Serpent Cults, African folks loved their Generation Cults, and on and on.

So which one is the oldest? probably the 'Nimrod Cult' which began during a power struggle in Iraq. Sammamaris a Queen back then was quite the saleswoman. And when her husband died she had no intention of being layed off as redundandant. Yes she heard God's voice (so she said) and could you guess? God, she said, was telling her to rule as mother of her son until he became King.
Every 'Mother and Child' religious statue you see today is based on the Cult she invented.
