Like that XP fella who deletes postings that shows him up as wrong. That's how things are getting now, folks are getting use to only listening to what they want to hear and living in that bubble. With social media platforms only showing recommendations in line with the person's set thinking. Keeping them caged in. No longer are they open to understanding or discussing a different side or anything that opposes their side. Weird world now. Now U.S has been averaging more than 2,000 Covid-19 deaths every day( as on October 2021) The intensity of the pandemic has made it hard to maintain that belief. Covid-19 was always deadlier than the flu. But anti vaxxers picked and choose what they consider as facts hence easy for them to still believe that Covid vaccines is more deadly and more severe side effects than the Covid viruses even though data show this is not true It’s this community of hardcore refusers that have closed ranks and created an insular world meant to perpetuate their beliefs. They won’t take a vaccine approved by federal regulators, then take an off-label medication (such as ivermectin) because they read about it online? “People listen to people ‘from their group’ and whom they think they can trust,” David Dunning, a professor of psychology at the University of Michigan said “People really don’t know what science is, and so do you feel you can trust the person giving you advice, rather than appraising their expertise, becomes the thing.” William Bernstein, a neurologist and author of The Delusions of Crowds, pointed that the “moral foundations” theory, which attempts to understand what motivates the decision-making of people on the right and left ends of the political spectrum. That theory holds that, within the American right, the concepts of loyalty and betrayal are more influential to their worldview than on the American left. Staying true to your group is a powerful pull for conservatives, for these folks, facts mean nothing; membership and identity, everything. The people dying today are largely unvaccinated. But people have still proven quite capable of shaping and reshaping a narrative that doesn’t require them to admit they might have been wrong. In fact, some think it’s their side saving the world. People flocking to news and information sources that support what they already believe. Anti vaxxers are closeing their eyes on the fact that Covid vaccines are saving more life's and saving more people from Covid related hospitalisation then negative side effects or deaths from the Vaccines. They refused to admit this. https://www.vox.com/coronavirus-covid19/22686147/covid-19-vaccine-betadine-hydroxychloroquine-ivermectin-trump-conspiracy Kojensa: Who’s Refusing Covid Vaccinations—And Why | Forbes - September 2021 Over 100,000 Americans are currently hospitalized with Covid-19, and over 1,000 people are dying every day. These are people from all walks of life - rich and poor, white collar and blue collar, old and young. But according to an estimate from the Kaiser Family Foundation, over 98% of them have one thing in common: despite the ready availability of Covid vaccines, they chose not to get them. The fact that Covid-19 has become a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” has been well-covered, and it dominates communications from public health authorities. However, millions of Americans who are eligible for shots still choose not to get them, and FDA approval of Pfizer’s vaccine doesn’t seem to have changed the rate of vaccinations nor people’s views on getting it. Some of those sitting out the shot are adamantly opposed to the vaccine while others claim to still be on the fence. Here’s a look at the adults who are still refusing to get a Covid vaccine, according to an analysis of nationwide polls. (Edited by Kojensa) Kojensa: Will Giving COVID Booster Shots Make It Harder to Vaccinate the Rest of the World? The debate over wealthy countries’ booster campaigns taking away doses that could be used for unvaccinated people abroad misses a key point: these countries have far more doses than they need for boosters, but governments—often mired in political considerations and bureaucracy—are neither using nor donating them. Wealthy countries’ governments have already bought up the vast majority of the world’s available vaccine doses and have preordered the majority of future ones—presumably in case boosters were needed. Despite having pledged to donate some excess doses to the developing world, wealthier countries have mostly been sitting on their stockpiles, many of which are in danger of expiring. Of the 1.2 billion doses the U.S. has promised to donate, it has only delivered about 190 million. On October 7 the WHO released a plan that would allow 40 percent of the world to be vaccinated by the end of the year, but the agency said this would require all countries to “commit to equitable distribution of vaccines.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.scientificamerican.com/article/will-giving-covid-booster-shots-make-it-harder-to-vaccinate-the-rest-of-the-world/%3famp=true (Edited by Kojensa) Kojensa: Yes old news but still relevant Covid-19 vaccines: what information can you trust? - February 2021 Factual and reliable information is vital to creating trust in vaccines and to overcoming the pandemic. The giant midget: I am 2x vaccinated and getting my booster shot mid January I wear my bandana where it's needed. I personally don't care if people get the shots or not I care about me and my loved ones One thing for sure in my opinion is that with all these people that have died since the beginning of this Covid pandemic around the world ,it must be a. Someone in some forum here said about the government promoting Covid vaccines that " I don't believe the people who let US die for years now suddendly becoming so interested in our health" The governments do care for the citizens health not because they love you but because it start effecting businesses and hence taxes and the country revenues are decreasing. Same thing goes here, why it is important to have global Covid vaccination because the pandemic would not become endemic like seasonal flu if not enough world population are vaccinated. So you, me and most people, even if we only care for ourselves and our love ones logically would still be concerned for these poor countries whether out of compassion or out of selfishness the aim is to turns Covid pandemic into Covid endemic.
