I had a pure black cat with green eyes who lived to be twenty-one years old. He was also named "ECHO."

I still miss him.

When his kidneys started to fail I gave him intravenous saline every day for about a half hour. It prolonged his life for five years, the vet told me. I'd do it again, gladly, you know.

Do they ever----I was inconsolable when he passed away. Cried for three days, actually. I loved the little SOB.

MJ59: Yeah my old girl just up and disappeared, went off to die on her own, that was very sad

Its a real heartbreaker because humans can tell you what's ailing them. Animals just suffer in
silence.

MJ59: Yeah it's hard to watch, my dog died at 15, just got old and crotchetty, I couldn't bring myself to get another one for 15 years, now this one's 9 yrs old....time flies

KeithJ: i just nursed my black lab back from near death,,hit on 7th and had pups I had to hand raise,,,had to put her hind leg back into socket ,,was lot of torn muscles but getting around good now with just slight limp,, i gave away all pups cept one,,,back in late 1980s my greatgrandmother died and i inherited her cat then it had a stroke but i nursed it back and it lived 3 more years to age 22 .,,great grand mother was 104 1988

You have a good heart, Keith. Anybody who will care for a sick animal like that is a fine person with a big heart, Bravo, sir, well done. You too, Beaver; people who love animals with that sort of passion stand out in my book. No wonder you guys are as decent and goodhearted as you appear to be.
